Although God is love and has mercy, God is also just and righteous.
Thou [God] art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity… (Habakkuk 1:13)
[concerning God] …and by no means clearing the guilty… (Numbers 14:18)

If you understand the true meaning of Hell, then you will know that everyone that death takes, goes to Hell. Satan, Adam & Eve, created "hell" or "the grave." The 1st "hell or the grave" came about when "Cain killed Abel." Abel went to his grave.

Definition: The word “hell” is found in many Bible translations. In the same verses other translations read “the grave,” “the world of the dead,” and so forth. Other Bibles simply transliterate the original-language words that are sometimes rendered “hell”; that is, they express them with the letters of our alphabet but leave the words untranslated. What are those words? The Hebrew she’ohl' and its Greek equivalent hai'des, which refer, not to an individual burial place, but to the common grave of dead mankind; also the Greek ge'en·na, which is used as a symbol of eternal destruction. However, both in Christendom and in many non-Christian religions it is taught that hell is a place inhabited by demons and where the wicked, after death, are punished (and some believe that this is with torment).

Is eternal torment of the wicked compatible with God’s personality? What would you think of a parent who held his child’s hand over a fire to punish the child for wrongdoing? “God is love.” Would he do what no right-minded human parent would do? Certainly not! Simply put, the word Hell is translated from the Hebrew word Sheol, which means the grave, where everyone goes when they die.

There's no such thing as eternal punishing in Hell.

people will normally bring up two scriptures to support hell

1) Lazarus and the rich man which was just a parable and not meant to describe eternity for the wicked. The rich man is in the process of getting thrown into the fire and burned. It NEVER says he continues to burn forever. The whole point of the parable is to show us that there's other things in life than getting rich.

2) Then there's Revelation 20:10 which is just a mis-translation. The beast and the false prophet had been thrown into the lake of fire. They were not there any more.

There is a "hell fire" and it shall never be quenched. Mark 9:43-47. This fire is used to kill and destroy unrepentant sinners. It will not burn forever. Your basic forest fire is "not quenched" -it keeps burning until it runs out of fuel. Same with this hell fire - once there are no more sinners to burn -it stops burning.

The whole concept of eternal suffering is false and unbiblical.

Our heavenly father is merciful - not some sort of sadist.

God is forgiving of the weaknesses and failings of a guy this is attempting to stay as God directs. although, whilst a guy would not attempt to stay a existence this is alluring to God, that may not weak point and failings, this is insurrection! God's word, the Bible, tells all what God needs. in case you elect a life-time of sin, then you incredibly've chosen to be seperated from God! which may be your fault, no longer God's! 2 Peter 3:9 says, "The Lord isn't slack concerning his promise, as some adult males count variety slackness; yet is longsuffering to us-ward, no longer prepared that any would desire to perish, yet that all and sundry would desire to come to repentance." God has supplied a manner for adult males to be stored, yet many will reject it! God has achieved His section! on the tip, our judgement is predicated upon our reaction to God's plan. the alternative is yours. "For we would desire to all look till now the judgment seat of Christ; that all and sundry would acquire the failings achieved in his physique, in accordance to that he hath achieved, no remember if or no longer this is stable or undesirable." Putting aside our religious differences. Take a look at some of the people that worship the devil. Take a look at some of the people that think that torturing & killing people is right. Those are the humans that will be suffering excruciating pain and anguish for eternaty.

♥peace be with you

Consider my short and to-the-point answer:

There must be opposition in all things less the freedom to choose--God's great gift of agency--would be for nought. So it is with rewards and consequences. God is merciful and just and will do everything in the name of mercy and justice to bring all His children back to him.

Many of His children won't cooperate.

It's all a way to create fear to the believers. Just like when you tell your kids that Santa Clause will give you a lump of coal instead of presents if you're bad. Same concept.
