I was raised in science and in religion,as I have gotten older and opened my own eyes to things, I have yet seen proof of Religion of any kind. Science has shown proof of alot and as technology allows more things are becoming more clear.
The answer for science is proof, the answer for religion is faith.
How do you live your everyday life, giving so much to something that you have never been shown proof of,most of your so called proof is actually scientifically based. You have one thing to go by and that is the Bible that you say teaches you all that you need to know about your religion and your faith of your existence, how do you grow in your knowledge from reading the same text over and over. Thats why i think the Bible was meant for crowd control by its writers of the time. It spread throughout by divide and conquer in those days, now you have many religions and many gods, all saying theirs is the one.Prove It. Science for education,Religion for crowd control. My opinion--

Well, simply, the information the Scientist gather is what enables us to teach our children about life without religions slant. If someone just told me to believe in something and to tell my kids the same, with no proof, I would know it was some sort of religion and to take with a grain of salt. So Scientific proof helps weed out religion from influencing even more people to blindly follow, although there are religious scientists so you have to be careful when analyzing their "proof".... as they have been conditioned to see things with the influence of god - no matter what - and this effects their results.

Do some research and you'll find that Noah's ark actually exists and sits atop Mount Ararat in the snowcap, made of timber that doesn't grow anywhere in the region.

There is also fossils of fish bones that are found on the tops of mountains, thus they had to be under water.

The Bible also mentions in Psalms and Isaiah that the Earth is round or circular, something that wasn't known, proven, or accepted at the time that it was written.

Most of the science that you speak of is still "theory" meaning that it is not proven.

Perhaps you are confused by people claiming that the 7 creative days are literal. Well, if they tell you that, they are mistaken. If you read in Genesis 1:1, the Bible says that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth. END OF PARAGRAPH.

NEXT PARAGRAPH. Then on day one....

The Heavens and the Earth existed for a long, long time before the creative days began. The purpose of the creative days was to prepare the Earth for mankind, hence, day one was the start of that process, not the actual forming of the Earth. Those days were not literal days because the Bible says of God that one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. So God's time scale is longer than ours. Plus the days desribed here refers to an era of time, not a literal day. Just as if I was to say in the days of Ancient Egypt... Egypt lasted for more than days, it lasted for a couple of thousand years. Days refers to the era of time. The same is true for the creative days. Each day was a stage, or era of the creative development. This is why stars that are billions of light years away are visible. If they were literally created 6,000 years ago, we could only see stars as far as 6,000 light years away.

God's instructions on cleanlieness for ancient Israel were also way ahead of it's time. They had no knowledge of germs until they were discovered by Joseph Lister in the last couple hundred years. Yet, the Israelites had laws to protect them from germs and diseases.

So yes, science does support the Bible on Facts that have been proven.

Other things like evolution, there is no proof of that. They keep searching for the "missing link" of which they will never find, because it doesn't exist.

I think that if you truly searching for the answer to your question you will find it. The problem is that most of the people that you find claim to read and teach from the Bible are mistaken and don't really know the Bible accurately. They only know what they have been told from their pastor or preacher, which is in a sense like you said, crowd control. So if they have been your gauge, it's no wonder you have lost confidence. Just remember, they're not preaching from the Bible, they're preaching from the pastor. Any person who truly studies the Bible and has an accurate knowledge of it won't have to ask their preacher or pastor about the answer, they'll be able to tell you themselves using their own copy of the Bible and backing their answer up with the Bible.

I think it all depends on what your purpose for living and believing is. I don't say scientists need proof - they do! They want proof so they find it. I live my life by faith - even in regards to science - and I am very content to do so. In my work, I deal with data and evidence all day long. The one thing I see over and over is that data only tells part of the story. Science can only tell us part of the story. And if I want to wait for data or science to tell me the rest, I'll be holding my breath until I die. I decided several years ago that my brain is not even big enough to understand the many things I wish I could and that anybody who says they do are obviously lying as they will only have an excelled knowledge in a limited area. Bottom line is - we live by faith in many areas of our life whether we realize it or not. I've simply accepted this reality and embraced it. Nothing science has "proven" has affected my life in a more positive way than my faith in Christ! Be blessed!

what does loving your neighbor, not cheating on your spouse, or the sermont of the mount have to do with science? Im religous and I love science, physics to be exact, and I dont see anything wrong with either one. And as a matter of fact there are two biblical accounts, one of the world being round and the other of the the earth hanging in a void of nothingness. How did these men who wrote these accounts know this hundreds and hundres of years before galileo and columbus or scientific knowledge if you will.

Religion is based on faith. You have faith that if you walk out the door the rain won't start until you reach your car. Science is experience and proof. You know you won't get wet because you're inside the garage before you get in the car.

Faith cannot be proven. If it could, it would not be faith. Christians believe by faith. You can proof two hydrogen and one oxygen make a water molecule. Very well, I cannot proof God exists. Some say it's a feeling. But they don't always have that feeling. Some say history, but history shows the church's faults as well.
In the end, we will see. I would rather live a life with something to look forward to by faith than live for nothing by proof.

Strange you pick out the Bible out of all the religions and religious text in your quest for answers but ok we'll go with that one.

Scientists who spend their life to prove something go by Faith until it's proven.

They wanted to prove the earth is flat, earth is round, sun revolves around the earth, earth revolves around the sun, that we derived from Apes, that fish at one time walked, that there is life out there besides us..it's all Faith Based until proven.

It's the same thing only with Religion you spend your life of faith to get proof at the end after you die and science you can live your life on faith hoping to find proof before you die.

Be sure to give to your scientific charitable tax free tithe of your choice so too can help fund the research necessary to prove an idea.

Religion is not about seeing the material evidence because religion is not something u can touch or maybe even see..being a believer comes from inside. I think your faith and spirituality should be enough ......so science will only believe in wat they can see in touch but that is just material things. i atleast want to believe that there is much more out there than this physical world...this is too much to explain but if u believe in God you will find a way

How is it mind control when we're free to believe whatever we want. I choose to believe in the existence of God, there are just too many things that scientist CANT explain. Why should I believe their logic anyway? I don't have to "see" it to feel it or know it's real. Use the wind for example: I can't see it and don't know from which direction it comes, yet I feel it, therefore, that makes it real to ME. I can feel the presence of God, so that's makes it real. Even when I don't feel Him, I know He's there and I believe He's real.

Blessed is he who has not seen, yet believes!

Faith is not blind!

Science requires open eyes, whereas faith requires an open heart!

For your information.....

I am a scientist AND a Christian!
