I'm just wondering what you thought of it if you did?

Not looking for any "I hate Mormons and think you're a cult" posts. We know....save it for somewhere else.

You can watch, listen, or download it here in any of about 60+ languages:

I've met a number of the individuals that spoke. Many of them are old. All, in my opinion, are very wise, and all that I've met are almost unreasonably happy. That said, this doesn't always come out in General Conference, as it isn't the time, place, or purpose for it.

I do appreciate your honesty though.

Pinkadot's response defined well the General Conference. The attitudes of the speakers and the listeners are reverent, sometime humorous, but never riotous, shouting, and get-red-in-the-throat kind of preaching as noted in some Fundamentalist religions in the South.

All the talks were uplifting and meaningful for those willing to listen and take to heart the contents delivered. We all need gentle nudges to do better in life. Who wouldn't want that for themselves except for the blasphemer and unrepentant sinner?

I was going to ask this question...because I wondered too.
Thanks for asking!
Conference was great as usual.

Father K - yeah, why would anyone want to listen to others talk about how to better ones self and life and become closer to the Lord...silly.

Father K - Maybe if you had actually listened to one or two of the talks, you'd know better than to judge someone by their looks. Enjoy those pencils.

I convinced a few of my friends to watch it. I don't think I've had much success though...

I flipped by BYU Channel.

All I could think of was:

1) "Dear God...where is the joy in any of this?? These are the most miserable sour-faced people I have ever seen in my life!!"

2) St. Teresa's words kept coming to mind: "From silly devotions and sour-faced saints, good Lord, deliver us!"

3) I kept thinking: "I would rather stick pencils in my eyes than have to sit through this!"

You wanted an honest opinion, I hope. That is mine.
