I can't take him to the vets until next week. So what can I do in the mean time to make sure he's healthy?

Is he eating and drinking? Check the litter box and make sure he's peeing and there is no blood or loose bowel movements. If all these check out, it won't be a problem seeing the vet next week.

If he seems healthy, he probably is. Unless he displays some signs of ill health or injury, he'll be fine.

I'm so happy for you!!! You must have been worried sick about your cat, missing him terribly. I'm so glad he's back in your home.

I would keep a close eye on him and if you have other pet's i would keep them apart until you get him to a vet for safety. Listen for cough's and look for any sign's of him being sick or acting strange.

check for fleas, put down plenty of water. and light food don't over do it with cat food as if he hasn't had much to eat you will give him the runs with "heavy" cat food on his tummy.

he's most likely fine. You might want to de-flea him and make sure he's feed well. Just be glad he's home. I bet you wish you could ask him how his vacation was.

Leave it outside as punishment for running away. Its a cat; it'll survive. Just throw some food at it now and then to keep it around.
