This person was asking a question designed to get only answers from Church critics. Then he got defensive about it. If you are going to throw pearls before swine, expect to get trampled.

Like with religous folks from other denomonations, it is hard to be sure when you are about to ask the wrong question out of curiosity, and then you have to deal with them being defensive before you can get your question answered.
But no, the Mormons I've seen on this site haven't been mean natured, at least to me. Once I saw a good question to Mormons that hadn't had an answer in an hour and dared to hazard a guess (while letting the asker know I do not hold myself to the beliefs of the LDS). I got a few thumbs down for my ignorance, but found the discussion informative, not confrontational. I guess there are bad ones in every bunch, sorry you had to find one.

Well I will agree that was a little over the top. Those of us who are LDS get tired of the "Magic Underpants" Questions. I think that is what the basis of his question is all about. I think he is just sick of people's fascination with our underwear- like most of the rest of us are. I don't have a problem with people asking questions- just keep them appropriate and not insulting.
Also most of the Magic underpants questions on here are very mean spirited and insulting.
Ask me any other question that you sincerely want to know about and I will answer it. If I think that the intent of your question is too attack or insult rather than to gain knowledge, then I will not be as nice.
I am not saying that his question was appropriate, but just trying to help you understand maybe why he did it.

This guy's already been deleted once or twice, and I think he is taking it hard. I have only met a handful of Militant Mormons like him, and most of them tend to mellow out after a month or two on R&S, when they realize how ridiculous they sound and how bad they make their religion look.
I've e-mailed him a few times, and he's pretty level-headed when he's not pist off about something.
In any case, though, it's no excuse to demean and belittle others, or to send empty threats of curses.

The problem is that when it comes to certain subjects such as religion for instance some people don't know how to go about discussing things the proper way like a mature person and therefore when they get frustrated they tend to go on the attack with name calling and insults and even in some cases they get physical with people. This goes on with just about people of every religion and non religion as well. Just take it with a grain of salt and move on.

I agree, we would desire to continually no longer "bash" Mormons although, we would desire to continually no longer deceive pacify or be politically magnificent the two. there is not any longer the different testimony, no different prophets of Christ after the e book of revelations. no longer, Muhammad and his Qur'an, no longer Jospeh Smith and his e book of Mormon or the different books he got here up with to suite his objective. God would not have a spouse, the main exalted Mormons are no longer likely to develop into god-like in heaven and the trinity is ONE entity (no ask your self a number of those different cultures interior the international have self belief that Christians are polytheistic rather of monotheistic, this is with the aid of fact of you adult males!). although, you're top approximately non secular discernment, the Holy Spirit does provide training in that factor. project is it seems Mormons are listening to a distinct spirit than the Holy Spirit or they might not pervert God's word. Joseph Smith became into no longer a prophet, and neither became into his successor. For you training, the historic previous of the Mormon Church became into very racist and now you're having a no longer basic time residing it down.

No, not at all. I think you will find all types of people in any particular group. Most Mormons are friendly and would be more than happy to answer questions about their religion. Yes, I found the tone of his question to be presumptuous, haughty and accusatory. There really is no need for it. Peace.

He made that in a sarcastic way, he didn't have the intention to be rude. Please don't stereotype us, so far I have not met a mean spirited Mormon that wishes bad things to people and I am not like that neither. What happens is that we get sick of reading all that bashing about us. People make fun of what's sacred and so important to us. I know that they may not care, but we do because it is our cultures and our beliefs that they are putting down and making fun of.

Oh Heavens no! If you have a question, I'm ready to answer. I think some just get a little frustrated by insincere and insulting questions about our "magic underpants" and such. By the way, we have no such thing as magic underpants. Those of us who have been to the temple do wear special undergarments that are symbolic of the covenants made there. That's it.

mormonisim is a great deception that far too many otherwise good people have been taken in by... there are many "mormons" who are good people and who do good things for others and their communities... but there are some who are just.... not good.... same as the population as a whole.... I have lived most all of my life around them... and came very close to being one myself many years ago... but even back then I came to see that they were not involved in any thing more than any other man invented "religion".... and even then... when I was very much against the Christians as well... even I, a confiremed mocker of the bible thumpers.... could see that the Christians had a lot more that was real to offer than mormonisim did... I am glad I did not get taken in by them... 30 yrs later I came to know The Truth of God.... and it for sure ain't mormonisim... I am now of The True Christian Faith.
