My birth surprised me. I was so surprised by it that I couldn't talk for over a year.

Yes, back in 1987 when I was 16 my country got hit by a hurricane. But this is a once-in-a-century event in Britain, and since tornados, earthquakes, terrorism, tsunamis and war happen quite frequently anyway, I don't think anyone's connecting that to the Rapture and Jesus. By the way, you're not my poster friend unless you give me Best Answer. (snigger) Just kidding about that last one.

Oh, I thought you were asking a real question, and an interesting one.
I was going to mention the break-up of the Soviet Union, among other things.
Yes, if a guy who's been dead a really, really long time shows up, I'll be very surprised. But since that's not going to happen....
If you want to preach, become a preacher and get a church. Stop pestering more intelligent humans with your nonsense.

No disrespect intended, but if the Rapture and the Second Coming actually happened within my remaining lifetime, I would be very surprised. ...not because no one ever told me to expect it -- there's no shortage of Christians eager to self-righteously threaten atheists like myself with an eternity of torture. The truth is, I would be surprised if it ever actually happens.
Ever since Christ promised his Disciples He would return within their lifetimes, and then didn't -- Christians have been threatening an eminent apocalypse. For two-thousand years, or roughly a hundred generations, Christians have been badgering anyone who would listen (and many who would rather not) with unrelenting tales of Christ's second coming. Given that a hundred generations of devout Christians have each incorrectly predicted that theirs was the generation that would see Christ's second coming, isn't it reasonable that people should actually be surprised, if and when Jesus finally appears? Given that all the Christians who ever lived have always got it wrong, is there any good reason to believe this generation finally got it right?

Lots of things happen that are a surprise.
All the things you listed had a natural cause.
In order:
No (That tornadoes happened)
No (saw them all coming on Radar and satellite)
Yes (Not quite as expected as tornadoes)
Yes
Yes
No
Lots of things.
So far the number of supernatural events that has surprised me is zero.
Zilch,
nada,
none,
zip,
a null set.
I expect this to continue for the rest of the existence of the universe.
The delusional postings of certain people no longer surprises me.

Keep dreaming. Natural disasters have been occuring on Earth for millions of years, so it's not suprising that they still happen to people today, unfortunately. People have been talking about the second coming of Jesus for the last 2000 years, and to this date, no sign of him. I'll believe it when I see it. But trust me, I'm not holding my breath.

No, I'll say something like "I'll be damned."
But for the other events, no none of them were surprising, terrible yes, but not surprising.

Interesting question. None of the things you mentioned, other than the rapture, have been foretold.
Several horrid surprises: President Kennedy being killed (and then his brother and then Martin Luther King), and 9/11. Yes I'm that old to remember the first three!
