Not a cent, or a dime, or a pound or a penny. Your grandfather isn't in purgatory because purgatory does not exist. Indulgences were pivotal to bringing about the Reformation. But it's clear you are not serious with this Q by saying $666!!! Nice subtle joke!

There was a story I heard as a kid. A man had died and his family had the priest to pray him out of purgatory. After each session, the priest wanted payment and the family wanted a progress report. The priest would say his head is out, then shoulders, then chest, then waist, and then knees. After each report of progress, he would get his payment until he reported those knees. "He always was a good jumper."

The point is purgatory is not in the Bible. God does not need money for anything. The dead according to Eccles. 9:5,10 are asleep, knowing nothing, doing nothing. Save your money.

I think it goes by the number of sins and the severity scale of those sins divided by the number of years he lived multiplied by the number of years he's been in Purgatory...not sure if that's the formula but it's something like that

10% of your annual income, plus offerings, plus building funds, plus any other of the various collections. Then you must pay a visit to a Priest, who will tell you what else is required of you. Now go, and sin no more.

Edit: Unless god tells you to, then sin as much as necessary, before the men in the white jackets come to take you away.

money can't help him now. If he is in purgatory, which I absolutely do not believe in, he can only wait for whatever comes after.
