sounds like you are doing the right things. You can also read to your baby (the love to hear your voice), show him pictures of other babies, make a picture book with photos of the people that he knows best, buy toys that are age appropriate, and talk to his pediatrician about other things that you can do for him. At 2.5 weeks, sounds like you're doing a great job!

You are doing something to encourage his physical/mental development. You are snuggling with him and talking to him and bonding with him. You are doing a great job. Don't keep second guessing yourself. You sound like a great mom.

It is still early so there's no activity toys for him yet but it seems like you're doing all the right things..there are toys though you can show him but don't stress him too much as he can get overstimulated...don't worry, i felt the same way and it will be easier when they get to three, four months when they start grabbing things are a bit more alert...you're a good mum, don't worry!!

You should make eye contact with him and talk to him, sing to him. Read him the newspaper, talk about current events. Touch him. You are doing everything right.
When he gets a little older you can start doing stimulating things like going for walks, touching different surfaces

I used to just have him near me no matter what I was doing, washing dishes, reading, watching TV, etc. I was always talking to him but he did sleep most of the time. They obsorb lots by just lying there. You'd be surprised. Right now you are doing what you are suppose to be doing. When he gets a bit older you can do more with him to help him build up his muscles, etc. There are good books out there on how to help babies develop, doing little exercises etc.

it sounds like you are doing everything right. at this point, he is still getting used to life outside of the womb and can't even see very well. you could play music and sing to him and simple things like this if you wanted. and, in the very near future you need to give him tummy time. prop him up on a pillow and let him look at you face to face, show him toys, etc. this will help him develop his neck muscles. good luck, you are doing a great job mama!

Sounds to me like you're doing fine. He's very young and by showing him things, nursing him, loving him, and talking to him is giving him a better bond with you and helping him develop the way he needs to. Give it time

Treasure every moment that you have with him because when your maternity leave is over, you will wish this time back.
But what I did was to talk to my LO and have my LO near me. My LO would just lie there and look at me and everything for a little while and then go back to sleep very soon again.

The only thing you need to do is relax; start to delight in him - play with him i.e. kiss his feet, his tummy, make amusing noises; it takes awhile for little babies to focus, so sound, touch & smell are their strongest senses - your loving stimulation are all the mental & physical development he needs right now.

I'm not a mother myself, but I'd have to say that you are doing everything just fine. You're showing him love by cuddling him & helping him learn by talking to him. What more could a child need? =)
