You are very lucky!
I got caught on the way to work doing 55 in a 30 area.
I told the cop that our new baby was born the night before and that I was sorry not to be concentrating!
- and got off with a verbal caution!
Always be polite and "honest" to the police.
When stopped get out of your car and approach them. (Nothing worse than an officer taking the dominant position and staring DOWN at you through the car window!)

In terms of traffic violations... what it comes down to in the end is the discretion of the officer. If they choose NOT to impound your vehicle or ticket you... even if they catch you red-handed ... they can simply issue you a warning and let you go on your merry way.
Consider yourself lucky and don't expect this to happen again.

The law gives officers discretion on whether to act or not on many offenses. Maybe it was time for his shift to end and he didn't want to get tied up in paperwork, but he thought he should at least worry you a bit about driving too fast.
Consider yourself lucky.

You were lucky.
Lucky he didn't give you a ticket. Lucky you didn't kill someone. Let us hope that next time, the cop does his job and throws the book at you.

I would have given you a ticket, towed your car and arrested you. But to answer your question directly, I don't know. Consider yourself lucky

If you feel really bad about it you could drop your car off at the police station. Consider yourself lucky and don 't do it again.

If that really happened then God smiled on you. Don't get excited though, next time won't be as lucky.
