Should we heed the advice of the people in other countries who have been telling us for 60 years to go home? Should we reject the dangerous idea that it is possible to spread "democracy" by the sword? Should we return to Isolationism?

We should return to isolationism for the purpose of solidifying our sovereignty, reclaiming our national identity, and to rid ourselves of multi-culturalism. We should also invite the UN to depart our shores and go to Europe where they belong.

Good question, as you wrote last 60 years...before this we had little to do with foreign policy and war. What are the reasons for this, well actually the advent of ww1 and the industrial revolution was the begining of the modern world and the inevitable outcome of globalization whether we like it or not. I think at the outcome of world war 2, we were thrusted in the world as a super power and that was whether we wanted it or not. Now as a super power we are obligated by the forces of the nature of man to be a world police force. If we do not, then inevitably we will be destroyed. This has transcended into a marginal imperial force that needs the checks and balances of a moral and well seasoned group of elect individuals known as congress (God help us). But as far as Isolationism, the world balances on the axis of powers that are hidden from the naked eye, and these powers are not of origin or descent, but of global strategy. In that aspect America will never be an isolationist country again nor will many other countries.

Not in the nuclear age.

And other than for reasons of conflict, it would be bad economically. International trade can grow our businesses customer bases many times over just selling to ourselves.

At this point in our economy reverting to isolationism would lead to collapse.
