How come so many people like this guy.. He is DANGEROUS!!! Did anyone see that block move he tried to pull at Dega, I was THERE... If he wrecks he cries and blames someone else, if he gets wrecked he tries to fight, but its PERFECTLY fine for him to run over everyone else.. Is it just me or is this guy the biggest titty baby in NASCAR

Agreed he is a good driver.. But he is dirty.. And he is a cry baby... And im aware of how restrictor plate racing works, im just saying that is was a stupid greedy move that could have gotten someone killed.

You all are ignoring the fact that this idiot considers it fine for him to run whoever he pleases off the track, but whines like a little baby when he gets bumped back!!!!!

Agreed 100%. I DO recognize Tony's tremendous driving ability, that does not mean he is the greatest driver in the Nextel Cup Series. Managing the race, picking your spots and being there at the end to give yourself a chance to win HAVE to factor into driver greatness. David Pearson is a perfect example of a great driver. He wasn't called the Silver Fox for nothing. He didn't have to wreck people to win races, he merely outsmarted and eventually outdrove them at the end of the race. It takes WAY more talent and brains to win this way than it does to move someone over or wreck them to get by. Smoke's emotions get in the way of him ever reaching his full potential and cost him making the chase at all last year. Just because he can drive a car better than most doesn't mean he's as good of a competitor as his fans make him out to be. That block he TRIED to put on Jimmie Johnson caused him to lose spots and perhaps his chance at winning the race at Talladega. I was glad that Kurt and Ryan had seen enough of his stupidity and wouldn't let him back in the high line when he went flying back up the track. At 190+ mph that WAS the boneheaded (the attempted block) move of the race and Tony is lucky he didn't cause a bunch more cars to get wrecked.

Gordon has more "NASCAR" championships, cuz that's mostly what he's raced. Tony has multiple championships, TEN major championships to be exact,,.... many more than Gordon.
Tony Stewart is the guy who refuses to be the liberal political correct Hollywood politician. He is cut of the same cloth of "old School" drivers, and his fans identify with his grease monkey background, instead of the sushi crowd of Gordon and Johnson!
We want a tough guy who knows he doesn't have to pretend to be anything other than a RACER!

He is a very good driver!
But as we were discussing just a few races ago when he ran all over Paul Menard in the pits he does need some help or just be put on the side lines until he gets his mind right.
Maybe even go back to dirt cars!
I think he is happier there anyway!
One of the posters here said he was not on the pit road when he hit Paul and that I needed to go back and watch a replay. I have tvo so I did. He hit Paul in the rear twice on the pit road and then cut across his nose on pit out. All this with no regard for all the pit crew members working there.
He does have a problem, but it will only be addressed by Nascar after he has hurt or killed someone!

Tony Stewart? Well, he is a mouth that is for sure. Yes he does some good charity work and yes he is an excellent driver. Will he be great even though he has won two championchips? Well, he doe do some blockhead moves and what gets me it is the same thing he just finished chastising someone else about. He is just a simple bonehead for sure. It is his mouth. Some people think it is cool because "he speaks his mind". I think he has come a long way but he needs to grow up some more to impress me. But I guess he doesn't need my fan support and my money.

That is just part of restrictor plate racing. The cars are limited in power and gear ratio so the cars stayed packed up. Having to move around is a strategy that exists and is really the only way to win the race, If they didn't move around there would be one complete race of follow the leader.

Maybe you should ask the question, "why did so many people like Dale Earnhardt. Tony is a lot like him, agressive, short fused, but a good guy off the track that does a lot of charity work.

He is an aggressive driver, as well as talented. He's no worse than past champion Jimmy Johnson caused a few wrecks at Talladega. Dale Sr didn't get the nickname "Intimidator" for being an excuse me driver.

Whoaaaa.... Tony Stewart is a great driver... In no disrespect towards the great Dale Earnhardt Sr... But he was also a dangerous driver... Dale Sr. use to always make a bump get the guy in front of him loose and then pass him. You gotta be dangerous to win. Try not to wreck and make some BOLD moves and in my mind thats what NASCAR is all about. In my mind you want me to tell you who is the worst driver in NASCAR for wrecking people... MONTOYA!

You're not going to like this answer and I'm sure it's not going to be your "selected answer", but here goes:
You need to get over yourself and your hatred of one of the best pure race car drivers to ever race. Your question sounds just like the negative questions that were asked about Dale Earnhardt, Sr. during his first few years of competition. Stewart, as was Earnhardt, is a no-BS race car driver that other drivers respect. It's time for you to give that same respect. The guy is just good.

Yeah I have to agree with you on that one. I've seen him knock more guys out of races than should be allowed. and every time he just says that guy was an idiot that doesn't know how to drive when questioned about him bumping the guy and making him spin out and wreck.
But let him get knocked out and he cries like a baby screaming foul.
I remember him once trying that on Gordon and ending up in the wall himself. Did he whine a cry about Gordon putting him in the wall and wanting Gordon suspended and whatever else.
You could clearly see he was the one a fault. And it was easy to see he was trying to knock Gordon out of the race because of the way he bumped Gordon.
I am not a Jeff Gordon Fan either. So I'm was neutral on the subject while that happened. I got to watching Stewart after that. And saw just how many he has done that too since then.
MAKING HIS NICKNAME "THE ROSIE O'DONNELL' of NASCAR fit him to a tee.
