If you see this frequently, it should be no surprise if it filters in to your dreams from time to time...It wouldn't hurt to have a checkup, just in case, but I feel that in seeing this scenario so often, you may have developed an empathic connection with people who receive this sort of treatment. It seems like a gift from your higher self, now that you have had such an intimate view of what it is like to be on the other side of the bed, you can use that to become that much more effective as a compassionate healer....
For example, what is the one thing you wanted to hear the people working on you say to you more than anything? You now know the answer, so you can say it to others in that situation.
What is the one thing you wanted the people working on you to do, more than anything? You now know the answer, so you can do it...
You were scared, so you can alleviate the fear of others...it is a gift to help you in your work...
Dreams of dying are rarely about physical death, but about beginnings, and endings, "dying" to an old way of being or looking at things, to be "reborn" to a new way of being or looking at things, marking a time of transition....

When you sleep your body completely relaxes. When this happens any stresses in the body manifesting themselves in physical difficulties of problems are detected strongly as the body and mind has nothing else to concentrate on but to analyse and heal.
If you have heart problems and you are aware you have heart problems in waking life then you can guarantee when asleep this will stick out like a sore thumb!
Dreams are images and thoughts which have not been processed thoroughly during waking hours. You indeed store a "bank" of thoughts during the day without knowing it.
Most times the closest symbol for "I have cheese passing through my sleeping gut" or "I drank too much and feel dehydrated" or "My bladder is filling" is automatically reached for and hardly ever remembered once awake.
You have bags of unprocessed thoughts regarding Accidents and Emergencies and I would be surprised if this is the only work related dream you have had to do with your own health.
You also probably subconsciously associate any CPR given when you are working in waking hours with your own anxieties about your own heart. This may even be a split second sense of "I hope I never need this".
Because the body and mind can detect best when you are asleep I would ask you to think - did you know you had a heart problem while still working in the ER for a long time before you started to have these dreams?
If so then something has changed where your body is focusing on it and I would strongly advise you to see a consultant - clearly not advising them your reason for comng is because of a dream!

My first thought when I started reading this was "oooo maybe this is a past life thing." Then I read on, and I dont think it can fit in the nice neat reincarnation package.
So, basically, what I am feeling from this is that you may be dissatisfied with your job. What is going on in your dream is taking place in the same environment that you work in, which gives the clues that you are not exactly happy with your job. In fact, it is probably taking a toll on your health, which is why you are dying in the dream. I am not sure what you do in the ER, but I believe your dream is telling you that it may be time to change work environment, perhaps to something more peaceful and life affirming.
But please don't worry, I don't believe this is precognitive of your own life. It is more of a warning from your subconscious to take care of yourself.

If I were you I would check out physically rather than psychologically first, if no problem with your heart, then you should relax yourself and focus more on other stuff.
Mind and body are connected. Your body will be affected by your mind and vice versa. Projecting tube going down your throat shows signs of losing control and that may be because of your professional. Things you have experienced can easily trigger you to dream like that.

i think you are dreaming about events from your work life. i can think of many things that i have transferred from my waking life into my dream life. there are even times that if i sleep with the tv on i will dream about whatever is going on with the tv show. take care of your heart condition and try some destressing excercises to decompress after such a difficult job in the ER.

According to the activation-synthesis theory of dreams, the dream probably has no meaning at all. (Sorry, that may not be what you wanted to hear.)
Although dreams are influenced by our thoughts throughout the course of the day, this does not mean they are special messages to us that we should carefully consider.
Here's one perspective:
"Activation Synthesis Theory is a neurobiological theory of dreams, put forward by James Allan Hobson and Robert McCarley in 1977, which states that dreams are a random event caused by firing of neurons in the brain. This random firing sends signals to the body's motor systems, but because of a paralysis that occurs during REM sleep, the brain is faced with a paradox. It synthesizes a narrative by drawing on memory systems in an attempt to make sense of what it has experienced."

You said you see this frequently. We often dream of things that has happened. If you are worried about your heart problems, have them checked out regularly.
