The computer manufacturer no longer carries it. Is there anywhere else that I may be able to purchase it from??

Restore disks are normally issued with the computer when you purchase it.

However...restore disks are next to useless. Always insist on the OS Boot/Install disc, even if it costs you a couple extra dollars.

As for the manufacturer no longer carrying it, it would depend on whether HP/Compaq actually assembled the computer or not. If they didn't, you will have to speak with the company that *installed* your OS.

Two options, try to find someone, Compaq or not, who can *create* a new copy of the OS disc for you, or buy a new copy of the OS and re-install it!

Please note: In some jurisdictions, *not* providing a boot/install disc with a new computer is illegal. :D
