Not, it's not rhetorical. Why would it be rhetorical? I need an explanation because I don't see how it does.

Of course, you CAN do whatever you want and you CAN call it good, but that doesn't mean it IS good.

Why does being a creator allow you to kill those you have created? Do their rights mean less simply because you made them? Why?

You also have to realize that good does not define who God is, But rather that God defines what good is. God does not conform to doing good, doing good conforms to God. So God cannot go outside the perimeters of what is good because he is what all other "good" deeds compare themselves to to see how good they really are. God is perfectly good, if he was not than there would be no such thing as good and bad or right and wrong. If there is no maximum perfect good that all other things must measure themselves up to than there really is no such thing as good or the contrary. For instance if you told Person A that he looked like Person B, you are measuring the looks of Person A to the looks of Person B. Person B looks perfectly like Person B because he is in fact Person B. In other words, only Person B can set the standard for what it takes to look like Person B. If Person B did not exist than there would noperfect example to measure the similarities in someone that may look like Person B, in fact even the idea of looking like Person B would not exist.

This is all aside the fact that we only exist because he allowed us to so therefore he has the right to do with us whatever he wants at any time.

Well, if you created the universe, there is probably no one above you to stop you, so you have the right to do anything you want.

Maybe there IS some one above the creator of the universe, I'll bet they think we're just as worthless as the creator thinks we are... I mean, how many kids burn ants? Why? Just because we're bigger, what makes us think we have the right to go around killing bugs? Just because WE think it's OK to go around killing ants, does not mean the ants will feel the same way.

And I'm not saying that it's OK to go around doing whatever you want, just because you created the universe. A truly good creator would not do anything bad.

All I'm saying is, we're like the ants. A good person will not kill the ants, but a person can if we wanted to. And a person could "justify" their actions for it too. Hell, we humans justify killing each other all the time (death penalty, war, etc.). Humans, who have not created the universe, but simply rule over a country, think they have the right to do anything they want to their people, and they always saying they are doing the right thing.

God is good, so everything he creates is good. God created nothing that is evil. Evil came to be because of the sin that Adam and Eve committed. "God Almighty, by the very definition, is sovereign. An almighty God can do whatever He wants. God Almighty answers to no one and does not have to give an account of His actions to anyone."*

God is sovereign, meaning he can do whatever he wants. However, he is limited by the boundaries of his character. For instance, God is not evil, so he can't commit an evil act. God is loving and just, so whatever he does must fit in those categories. Remember, that being Just means that the Law must be laid down every once in a while. But anything that is not good is not from God, but from Satan, who has no good in him. But, your definition of good may not be God's definition. Remember that God's standards of right and wrong, are unshakable.

You as a human being can't make up what is right or wrong. The guidelines have been set since God established them. So whatever God says is good, is truly good. What ever he says is bad, IS TRULY BAD. His standard is always right. I hope this helps you

EDIT: God has the authority to kill people, because he created them. He knows why they deserve death. Sometimes God takes someone's life, because it his time to go to heaven or, God may be protecting him from a future suffering that could be worse than his death.

God is Just, we just have to trust that He knows what he is doing. You might also think, what about the babies? Let me clarify this once and for all. All Babies go to heaven! Why? Because they are not accountable for any kind of sin, even though they are born in sin. Since they cannot make conscious choices, God automatically has mercy on them, and brings them to heaven.

But that does not Justify abortion. We do not have the authority to take life as God does. A lot of times, God doesn't kill anyone. It is because of sin that we die.

Um, that's rhetorical, right? lol

EDIT: Actually, if one creates the universe and controls all that is within it, then by default, one has the ability the do whatever one wants and to call it good.

Really, Meaty, you need to think thru these questions a bit more. lol

EDIT: Yes, if I am perfect and if by my will all things (including the concepts of "good" and "evil") are created. :-)

The only thing in creation capable of questioning God is man and He created you too. And you were created for His pleasure. Read Revelation 4:11.

Any creator......a god a writer a painter... decides what exists and what doesnt. Making a judgment is ANYONE's right.
If I create a child.... it may grow up and find me evil.
Creating doesnt make you right........ being created doesnt strip you of judgement. The subjects are unrelated.

If you plant a tree in your yard...do you have the right to cut it down?
God is God . he will do what he wants with the tree.....
He cuts all trees down that don't bear fruit he said.....He is boss in this case.....we are at his mercy.....I say YES LORD and call it good.....I must worship him and have no other God's before me.....Man has always wanted to be God from the beginning.....That was Adam and Eve's problem.....

Well put!

This question has extracted the essential immorality in Christian mythology...from the mouths of Christians themselves. Power does not give God the right to hurt other beings (imaginary as he is).

Well it is kind of obvious..
If you build a race car or most anything else and then you want to junk it, who is going to say you can't. It is yours..
Also if your basic nature is completely good, sinless, and even holy, then whatever you do will be good, sinless, and holy.
Man became sinful by his own free will.

Its not that he created the universe that gives him the right. It is the fact he will torture you in hell if you don't like it.
