This is what I dont understand. There are simple absolutes in this world right? Not everything is relative. Things exsist like people, trees, water, plants and so on. These are truths that can not be changed because they simply just are and there is no other way to go around it there is only one truth and that is they exsist.
So here is my real question.... What makes God so different than the things He created? (That is if you beleive in a creator) What makes people think that there isnt just one truth for Him as well. A way of life for His creation to live by and walk daily in. Why is that so hard to beileve?

I have to say that not having attacked anyone for their belief I got attacked for mine. Please review your responses and see the malicious intent behind them. I in no way was trying to denigrate your view point just submitting an alternative. I can’t say as though I blame you seeing that not all those who believe as I do act out what the Bible teaches. I do however. This is in now way self righteous, but an illustration that there are those who are not hypocritical in the Christian faith. I pray that you all have a wonderful day.

Good point friend...keep it up....but don't expect the atheistic anti-God folks to be considerate of your opinion....they really know how to be intolerant here on Q & A....beware.

Why is it so hard for YOU to believe that that "absolute truth" might be different from YOUR belief?
I have no problem believing in an absolute truth, I just don't think that YOUR claims are the absolute truth.
And I'll believe that something is truth when I have reason to believe that it's truth. Someone else's unsubstantiated beliefs are not truth.

Its not hard to believe that there is only one truth. Its just hard to believe WHAT that truth is because there are so many who claim that their version is the only version. The only truth that seems to be universal is the golden rule - love each other (or treat each other) how you would want to be loved (or treated) - even if you don't believe in a creator.

there are more than one tree, more than one person, more than one lake/pond/river/sea, more than one plant... and so on. This is a truth that cannot be changed.
We can document their existence, and corrobotate others' claims of their existence. This is a truth that cannot be changed.
We can document thousands of gods, and perhaps as many differing opinions about any one-god belief system. Since there is not a single only "one true tree" or "one true plant" etc., it makes no sense at all for there to be only "one true god."

If there is only one truth, then only one person in the world is right, each person believes in a different truth.

God isn't different than the things S/He created....that includes ALL living creatures, not just humans. This is why the Abrahamic religions make no sense to me...they focus only on the human aspect and under the guise that God's only interest is in His/Her human creations. This is so untrue.

Because not even hardcore Christian fundamentalists can always agree on what this "truth" is. In my former congregation, people used to have long, drawn-out arguments over things like baptism (immersion vs. sprinkling) and playing musical instruments in church (vs. singing only), all the while waving their Bibles and quoting long-memorized verses to "prove" what God wanted. I mean, if they can't even reach one simple conclusion themselves, how do they expect everyone in the world to agree on their one truth?

The problem is not in the general cases. The problem is in the absolutes. No absolute vacuum, no absolute zero, no absolute good or evil and certainly no absolute God.
Now you go find me the perfectly average family with 1.376 kids, one a boy and one a girl.

Obviously there is only one absoulute truth about certain things. I just think that it has nothing to do with God.
Of course, that's my belief. You can believe whatever you find to be true.

There is one truth but words do not convey it.
There is one truth and many paths to that truth.
There is one truth but nothing contains it.
There is one truth but logic and reason will not take you there.
There is one truth. Those who say they know it, do not know. Those who say they do not know it, know.
There is one truth, love is the path to that truth.
There is one truth and it shines all around you, both within and without
There is one truth, gaze at it in awe.
Blessings and peace to all,
All in all
