as a former atheist...I know exactly what you are getting at. Deep down they are hoping God would reveal Himself to them in some tangible way that they can disect-when the greatest proof is in YOURSELF. You know and I know..our greatest confirmation of God's existence is in the changes we have seen in ourselves-from diehard self righteous atheists...to believers.
Yes...lets keep praying (and add my dad and mom to the list of those who need to surrender)..

I am not a Christian but I agree that some of the anti-Christian rhetoric is uncalled for. I would only ask that you observe some of the rude bantering of those who claim to be Christians on this page. They feed into some of the most base biases where Christians are concerned.
I believe that what you think is going on in the minds of aetheists on this page may be more a reflection of what was happening with you before your conversion.
I am a Buddhist and I can honestly say that I am comfortable with that and I wish you and other peaceful respectful Christians peace.

Well I'm here because I am sick of the religious getting their own way in Washington and enacting laws that have everything to do with religion and nothing to do with the Constitution. But that's just me.
I won't ask you to stop praying, if you think it helps, then more power to ya'.

That's one possibility.. a long shot.
More likely we're here because we like solving problems, and hope that we can convince others to start thinking for themselves.
Which you choose to believe is up to you. You believe the world is 6000 years old, so I guess believing that we all desperately want to be saved isn't that big of a stretch of the imagination by comparison.

Okay, I'll be the first to keep it real: We're all here to argue. No one is going to change anyone else's mind. I do like it when I get a nice email thanking me for some info I provided, but mostly we like to throw mud.

if that's the excuse that lets you sleep at night, more power to you.
Some Christians such as yourself are truly unable to comprehend that there are other ways of looking at things. Rather than strain your mind, you have my personal permission to retain whatever rationalizations you need, as long as you keep any and all sharp objects locked up.

I once was lost, but now I'm found.
I'm sowing seeds on rocky, thorny, hard-packed ground.
