It depends on which prison your going into. Call your state prison and ask. I wouldn't assume anything, because you wouldn't want to start off on the wrong foot with the prison guards.

It depends on the state. You can call the DOC headquarters usually in the capitol and find out. Generally you can only bring the basic (stamps, paper, some hygeine, etc.) but some states may not allow you to bring anything. You will need to research it.
God I can't believe how many rude ppl answer these question.

No drugs or weapons,

basically you your and your personal belongings they will keep them in a bag. Some prisons allow TV's and even playstations the theory is if you are busy you will less likely be violent.

BRING YOURSELF AND THE OLDEST CLOTHES YOU HAVE, YOU WILL NOT SEE THOSE CLOTHES FOR AT A MIN A YEAR.
UPON INDUCTION YOU WILL BE DELOUSED, SHOWERED, GIVEN A CREW CUT, CLEAN SHAVED, GIVEN CLOTHES, UNDERWEAR, SHOES AND A NICE PLACE TO STAY AT WHILE YOU ARE IN PROCESSED INTO THE SYSTEM.
YOU WILL BE GIVEN EVERYTHING YOU COULD WANT EXCEPT FREEDOM FROM WITHIN UNTIL YOUR EOS DATE(END OF SENTENCE.)
YOU HAVE COME TO PRISON AT A GOOD TIME BECAUSE THE RAPE PREVENTION LAW IS NOW IN EFFECT IN ALL 50 STATES. WHEN AND IF YOU GET RAPED?

What you can take is whatever you want.

What you can keep is a differnt matter.

Probably nothing short of eye glasses, prescribed medication, and stuff like that.
