I dont think god would send you to hell for killing yourself.
do you honestly think god would send a person to hell, who has lived a life on earth that was so full of sadness, aloneness, pain and suffering? do you think god would send them to a place to suffer more?
seriously now...?
what about people with mental disorders? people who suffer from depression and dont get it treated (for various reasons)? would god punish them for their mental problem?
edit: i got a thumbs down, are u serious? do you guys honestly believe in such a sadistic god that would condemn a soul that has been suffering his/her entire time on earth, to an eternity of suffering solely beceause that soul didnt wish to remain in pain?
(please tell me it wasnt a christian who gave me a thumbsdown)

There is absolutely nothing in scripture that proves that killing yourself will suddenly send you to hell. If you believe suicide to be a sin, then look at it like this. If you think it's a sin and because you cannot be forgiven for it because you'd be dead after you did it, then you'd go to hell -- then you could say the same of this case. If I lied then then died of a heart attack before I was able to be forgiven for my lie, then I would go to hell as well. That doesn't make sense AT ALL! God doesn't judge our life based upon one act. He judges our life as a whole. Besides, we are not God and speculating if someone is in hell or not isn't even part of our job. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. It's in the hands of God now, and our debating it won't change his choice. That is one thing I can promise you.

(Mark 3:28-29 KJV) Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
All other sins can be forgiven. However, anyone contemplating suicide may be in danger of going to Hell, as their relationship with the Lord is not intact at that point. Those who would consider suicide may have a severed relationship with Christ and therefore they would enter the real Hell--which is worse than the hellish feelings they are experiencing at the moment.

He asked for forgiveness BEFORE he killed himself...well, I've been taught that no saint of God PLANS to sin. We may be overtaken in a fault, but we don't purposely go out to commit any acts of sin. It's obvious that he had a spirit of oppression and didn't understand how to walk in victory in Christ Jesus, therefore his belief system was messed up or he had no faith, and isn't that what we're saved by anyway, our faith? So my answer would be hell.

I think that who does and doesn't go to hell is none of our business. I believe that IN GENERAL anybody who wantonly takes a life, even his own, with full knowledge of the seriousness of his actions will be in hell.
But as for specifics: I can't judge another man's soul. Who's to say he wasn't mentally ill? Or who's to say there aren't some other mitigating factors in his suicide that we don't know about?
Saying that particular, specific people are damned to hell or not is nobody's business but God's.

No sin puts one in Hell. The only thing that causes us to go to Hell is our refusal to accept Christ as our Lord and Savior.
Period. The Papists and Arminians (Methodist, Nazarenes, Church of Christ) will tell you different; don't believe them.
If your friend was saved, then he is with God. If not (and he was of a sound mind) then he is not.

I deeply respect what others believe about it, but my personal view on suicide is that "it's an act in which the person who commit suicide is rejecting the life that God gave him", so I don't think suicide can be forgiven.

Difficult to say. If a person is psychotically ill or demonically afflicted then it's up to God to decide. If however, the motivation was some personal gain or benefit to others then I think judgment might be adverse.

If you have the brain to ask for forgiveness for killing yourself, then you are in the right state of mind and therefore will rot in hell. If you are not in the right state of mind and kill yourself, you will not go to hell ie: retarted. (no offense)

the reference to the word hell is just silly.
Hell was origionaly a valley behind most cities where garbage was thrown and burnt to keep down stench and clutter, so when some one back they said go to hell, it meant to go to the valley of burning garbage.
Suicide, not "right" by today's morals, but remember, if electricity is caused by electrons, are morals caused by morons?

Heaven and hell are imaginary non existant places. Like the 'land or oz' or 'santa's workshop at the north pole', they exist only in our imagination. They are not a literal place you can go. Besides that, when you die, you are dead. That's what death means, it means the end of life.
