ok, so I have thought up Sewing, Crafting, Pottery, Self-Defense, and Karate. Any other suggestions for my friend and I to do one or 2 nights a week? We've even thought of just going to play Bingo. lol

How about another language. If not...then dancing. You can also try learning to play an instrument. Good luck.

First, what are you good at, what are the kind of things that give you a thrill? What is there that you always wanted to do one day "when you had time"? Go for that first!
Then if nothing comes to mind, why not:
learning about a subject that fascinates you -if you think hard enough, I am sure you already have plenty of ideas. MY ideas only; wine tasting, a year's course in cookery or beauty therapy, leading to a professional qualification; dancing is always fun; singing is therapeutic... painting, a new language or a course in art appreciation? If you are not already a swimmer, how about a swimming course with an instructor, at your local pool?
What are the things you already like doing?
Good luck and go for it!
