For salvation, it is Faith + Nothing. Faith in God is all you need.
Think about it in the bigger context, Salvation is a Free gift, no strings attached. Also, the Bible says Faith is a gift of God.
How could it be free, if you had to earn it? Did you boss hand you a shirt, and say here this is free. Then the next day ask for 20$? No....
Now, if you go out in the world and your lifestyle does not exactly reflect you being saved, and there is no Fruit of your salvation, like reading the Bible and sharing the Gospel, then perhaps you were never really saved in the first place.
Ephesians 2:8, 9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Read Romans chapter Five where salvation is called God's gift 6 times.

When you say, "faith alone." You sound like you don't do any-
more, than you absolutely "have to."
I go to church every Sunday, and know the people who attend
"regularly."
Then there are the others, who only show up for Christmas
mass, and take up two seats, one with their big fur coat. And
leave an old lady with a cane, standing in the back. And they
put nothing in the basket when it is passed.
Their not "Faithful Catholics" but "Christmas Catholics."
So, NO, You can not make it on Faith alone. ():-})>{+

James.
The New Testament is filled with various authors who had different viewpoints on faith and what it meant to them.
A lot of critics announce the inconsistencies and declare that the Bible is null and void because one author seems to contradict another, but it's merely an attempt by the authors to express their viewpoints on faith.
Paul says faith alone is sufficient; James says faith without deeds is dead.
The point is you truly need both.

According to James, works are an absolute requirement. He points out that even devils believe and tremble and that it is unprofitable to just have faith alone. Works are also required.
James 2
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
I think CS Lewis (a christian author) said it best....
"Regarding the debate about faith and works: It’s like asking which blade in a pair of scissors is most important."
-- C.S. Lewis
Of course we have to have faith in Jesus atonement as well, because none of us could do sufficient works to merit salvation on our own, we all have sinned and therefore rely on the atonement and repentence, without which we would be guilty.

James 2:24 - "You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone."
You are saved by GRACE alone, NOT by FAITH alone: James 2: 19 "You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that...."

The Bible says that words alone without good works to back it up is worthless [lip service] For example, you say you love God, if you profess this with your lips, and do evil, how can you love God? Your words and actions contradict each other.

the bible says that faith without deeds is nothing, also says that faith alone is enough!
look at the answers some say faith is enough ,others say not enough.and both opinions are based on the bible!!!!
FAITH IS NOT ENOUGH:
romans 2:13(For it is not the hearers of the law who are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Corinthians7:19Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but what matters is the keeping of the commandments of God.
--------------------------------------
FAITH IS ENOUGH:
Galatians 2:16knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Galatians 2:21I do not frustrate the grace of God; for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain."
Galatians 5:4Christ then becomes of no effect unto you, whosoever of you claim justification by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5For we, through the Spirit, wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
Colossians 2:14blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us. He took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross;
15and having despoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16Let no man therefore judge you in meat or drink, or in respect to a holy day or the new moon or the Sabbath days,
ROMANS6:14For sin shall not have dominion over you, for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
TIMOTHY 1:9knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
can anyone explain these contradictions over here!before giving me thumbs down?

Faith and confession is the only thing to save you. Works are for rewards in heaven.
