Disney is building an 800-room Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort on Oahu, scheduled to open in 2011. Plans for the resort are expected to be announced in early 2008.

I heard they are building a Disney-themed resort. Will probably have the characters and fun things, but no theme park. I think just being in Hawaii should be good enough!!

they are going to a build a Disney Hotel/Resort. No rides. just a resort. It's going to be small. O'ahu is a small island, where the heck did they find room to even build this?

Oooh, I didn't know they had purchased land in Hawaii. I hope they make a Hawaiian style theme park

I dont know but I see it as a big problem. It is already crowded here and locals are having a big problem with just the super ferry (google it, its crazy) so I see them going ape sh*t over this, we dont need that here.

A majority of commercial property in Hawaii is owned by japanese interests. Frankly I don't care what they do with it, as long as it's ours.

still buying land and building bullsh!t.. nobody from hawaii wants a silly haole theme park or hotels its gettin way out of hand. one day things will change.. silly haole's
