gregg and soccer's list are 180 from what I'm talking about. 3 doors down? Aren"t they that "here without you" band? I'm talking along the lines of:

Deftones, Lamb of God, Avenged Sevenfold, Incubus, 311....stuff like that.

sorry guys....but i think I would puke from my ears if I listened to all those songs in a row.

Since you say "slamming" songs I'll assume you want harder rock/metal from this era.

I'd go with these, all of which hit #1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks list (I picked the ones which, in my subjective opinion, continue to be pretty popular, often played on radio, and have a good "rock" quotient to them):
Kryptonite-Three Doors Down
Last Resort-Papa Roach
In the End-Linkin Park
The Middle-Jimmy Eat World
Bring Me to Life-Evanescence
Seven Nations Army-White Stripes
Cold Hard Bi*ch-Jet
American Idiot-Green Day
Beverly Hills-Weezer
Welcome to the Black Parade-My Chemical Romance
