my mother always said yawn while pulling down on your earlobe of the ear that's "closed".
It is most annoying isn't it? Did your doctor say the infection is all gone? was the inner ear damaged? Maybe all you need is a ear solution to clean it out?? Well, good luck and feel better. only time may be the answer.

You may have fluid behind the ear drum. Try taking a hot bath or shower to loosen the fluid, sleep on that side to allow it to drain. You can buy ear drops that you warm and drop into your ear at the pharmacy, or you can try a heating pad or blowing a blow drier near your ear. Forcing your ear to pop is not always a good idea - you can make your ear worse messing with it too much and make yourself crazy! Be gentle and patient - try the warm bath and the ear drops together, have some hot soup or cocoa, then nap on that ear.

If yawning and swallowing are not effective, unblock your ears as follows:

Step 1: Pinch your nostrils shut.
Step 2: Take a mouthful of air.
Step 3: Using your cheek and throat muscles, force the air into the back of your nose as if you were trying to blow your thumb and fingers off your nostrils.

block ur nose with ur fingers and try blowing out. this will build some pressure in ur ears. (do this pretty hard but not too hard!!) now try yawning. ur ears should pop.

repeat if necessary.

good luck!

I had this problem after an ear infection. Use a safety pin to make a small incision in your ear drum. That will relieve the pressure.

Chew gum! It helps.

CB

if none of the above helps---then you probably have a wax buildup blockage...and will need to go to the doctor to have it taken out.

only takes a few minutes to have it done.

good luck :)
