I eat fried chicken wraps that are made a local eatery. I don't eat the chips they give. I can't really tell if it is healthy or unhealhy. There is a good portion of buffalo fried chicken pieces in the wrap along with lettuce. Will this cause me to maintain my current weight or even add weight? Any suggestions? I am thinking they might be a detriment to my weight loss efforts.

Wraps are generally a good choice.....as they usually contain lean meats, lettuce, some sort of vegetables, etc.

HOWEVER, anything fried is bad. Anything. And this is WHY: fried things absorb a ton of oil when they are cooked. And most oils are very, very bad for you and VERY high in fat. If you are trying to lose weight, it is almost necessary to avoid fast foods.

Chicken is a GREAT source of protein. I lost over 100lbs and I have eaten so many chicken breasts, it's ridiculous. BUT they are NOT fried.

Maybe the same eatery offers a grilled version of your wrap?? Or different grilled wraps.

ANOTHER thing you need to be careful of when eating wraps is .SAUCES. A lot of food places will add mayonnaise or a high-fat dressing or sauce of some kind to their sandwiches and wraps. Not good.

I also typically avoid tortillas because they are high in calories and carbs (will make you fat). Why not try grilled chicken or turkey, even ham or roast beef.....on wheat bread? Or a grilled chicken salad. ALMOST ALL the fast food places offer a grilled chicken salad nowadays and they are actually pretty tasty. Again, you need to watch the dressing. And always make sure you order it grilled, not fried or "crispy".

Best of luck to you! :)

What I do to help me lose weight is (1) If I feel like eating but know you don't need to, I get away from food, by doing something else, like what I am doing now(2) If I feel I must eat, I will eat a piece of fruit. Since it has a lot of water, it is much more filling and lower in calories than junk food; also (3) you must decide how serious you are. At my work, sometimes the boss brings in donuts, bread and other pastries. While other people are stuffing their faces, I eat some grapes or drink some juice. Making the right choices can help If you are really serious about losing weight, don't buy the kind of junk that is very dense, high in calories, and serves no nutritional function except to put on weight

If you're trying to lose weight stay away from the fried foods, very important. Try to fit a few more walks into your day or take the stairs more often. Exercise is the key and do not eat late. Try to not eat at least tree hours or more before you go to bed.

Fried is not good.

Personally I like to stick to places that give you the nutritional info, or you know exactly whats going in (and that means no mayo, sauces etc, just plain meat, eggs, tuna or whatever). Unfortunately you can't always tell the contents just by looking.

It also depends on what you are doing the rest of the time as well. One wrap won't make you put on pounds, if the rest of the day is "good".

After reading this I feel the need to share something because I spent many many years going from diet to diet without acheiving any real results until I saw Pams magic plan (google it). It is without a doubt the most weight loss that I have ever achieved and I have not put it back on to this day.

ANything fried is to be suspect when trying to lose weight. Ask the place that sells them for a nutrional guide. If they don't have one, I'd ditch them and replace with something you know the contents of.

These wraps are better than some of the other choices out there, but due to the fried chicken, they are not so great. See if you can get them in grilled chicken, and this will cut off loads of fat and calories.

Fried=bad period. Have it grilled instead. It will make a huge difference. Also lay off any sauces. Use a vinegrette or just a dash of salt and olive oil.
