I am thinking to buy some high end demo skis, but the bindings are on a demo track. Does it make a difference when skiing? and is it worth removing the track, will removing the track damage the ski because of additional drilling?

nothing wrong with demo bindings. they are usually easier to adjust and also have a greater size accommodation of adjustment..if you share skis or loan them. my husband and I can swap off sometimes because a demo track will go from very small to very large. the drilling won't damage it, but do make sure the holes are plugged well.

Unless you plan on switching bindings, you might as well just leave them on the track.

You can usually drill and re-mount a few times before you start damaging the core. Just make sure you plug up the holes well if you do re-mount. Also, a nice riser plate will help cover up the old mounting holes and will give you a better lean into the turn.
