you're not legal, 18 years old is legal...and not it is not stupid to wait...I waited until I was 19 and I now regret the first guy I was with (like most people do)...I'm 24 now...

Lemonsaresour, there is nothing in the world wrong that you are still a virgin at your age and maturity level. There are kids a lot younger then you are who have been active for quite a while and are not only subjecting themselves to numerous diseases but also getting themselves quite the reputation to go along with being so carefree. These other girls if they continue to play with fire the way they are are either going to end up with something they don't want (pregnancy or STI) and also have a difficult time finding a keeping a male for a long term relationship. Regardless of how attractive anyone is the fact is that by sleeping around others will judge you and not want to become involved with someone who will lay down with you other then for just that one thing. No, but what IS stupid is this question! First off, your not legal until your 18. Secondly, your wayy to young to be having sex or thinking about having sex! Live your life!! I am 21 years old, and i just got married 3 months ago. My husband was the first person I ever had sex with. And why did i have sex? Because I knew he was the one and we were engaged to be married! I am very responsible.. I take birth control AND we use condoms. You never know.. anything can happen and we are too young and not ready for any kids. Just be a young adult and be safe. Wait until your ready!!

Amazing maybe, but not stupid. Quite the opposite in fact, rather admirable. Something like that shouldn't be done just because you haven't done it before. In this instance, your sex is irrelevant - same answer either way - don't do it until you are mature enough to handle the dynamics it adds to a relationship. At any age, it can turn your whole world upside down, but at 16 it can very well lead to disaster.

that isn't stupid at all. It's embarassing but I had sex when i was.. 14 turning 15. I was in a relationship for a long time with a boy, ( you shouldnt be havign sex with anoyone you can consider a boy..) but anyways, and I just thaught that's what you were suppossed to do. He ended up being a psyco, and the relationship ended THANK GOD. time passed and now I'm in a relationshipw ith someone I lvoe very much adn we have something really special. He lost his virginity when we were ogether for the irst time and a part of me wishes I could share that with him. Bottom line you ahev to be mature enough to have sex and I don't think I was and I defenitly didn't haev it with the right persona dn I haev that with me for the rest of my life. I wouldn't wish that for you or anyone. so waitt until your 100% sure it won't come back to haunt you, you want to associate good.. great! memories wh your first time.

It's not stupid, its a good thing. I'm a guy and I didn't have sex until I was 21 with the love of my life.
Just because your legal doesn't mean you have to do it, best to wait until you feel comfortable. Its worth it.
And for the love of God don't let any boys twist your arm!!! lol If they say they love you, then they'll have no problem waiting. Expect respect.

You should be proud. Look, I'm no prude, but for me, having sex was something I wanted to do on MY terms. That meant not in the backseat of a car or some other sleazy place. Not in the house my parents were paying for. I wanted it to be MY decision and something I could live with. I waited until I had graduated from H.S. and had my own apartment. No icky, filthy, sneaking feelings, no pulling up wet underpants, no feeling like I had to rush or be ashamed. Don't do it just to do it. Think about what you want your first experience to be like. I chose having a little dignity about it, and have never been sorry I waited.

That's a terrible reason to have sex, just because it's legal. Also, you're not legal until you're 17, probaby 18 in some states.
I believe that at 16, some are capable of making the decision to have sex, some aren't.
A great way to know if you're ready to do it or not is this: If you're unsure, you're not ready. You just asked strangers on the internet if you should, I think you've answered your own question (ie: you're not ready). ;)
Think things through, don't be like your moronic highschool peers. I think you're smarter than them and will make a good decision. Good luck.

You're not legal and wait until you find the right person. There is no rule that says you must have sex by the age of 16.

If you live in the UK then yes you are correct about it being legal. But don't rush into it for the sake of it, you will definitely regret it. Just because we are old enough to do something doesn't mean we have to do it. Wait till you meet someone really special and even then don't give it away too soon!
