Anyone who says, that by adding works to faith makes that person or Gospel false, has not read James. In here, he says that faith without works is dead faith and works without faith is also dead. We can say that works, by and of themselves, will not get you into Heaven. But, according to James, the same can be said for having only faith.
He says that true faith has both. If you have faith then you WILL do works. Works come from faith. Faith does not come from works. I believe this is what should be said.

I remember seeing once there actually is another 'book' (IE-gospel) in their version of the Buy-bull. I can't remember the name but it would be easy to find on any search engine.
Protestants are constantly trying to say everyone else is wrong, and they don't like the Catholics, even though they're not sure why. I grew up Christian and when I was around 15, I told my parents I wanted to go to a Catholic Church and they reacted as if I had said I turned into a Satanist. When I asked why I couldn't go to a Catholic church, they said something about well, they weren't sure but it was a bad illusion and I should talk to so and so about it...she used to go to a Catholic church.
I think the Reformation in England was so horrible that, even now, they stay away from each other (for the most part). Look at Northern Ireland and the rest of the island. They use religion to discriminate.
As a pantheist, I see them as very similar but they want to split hairs and hate each other based on a past they don't even know about. The founding fathers even had that 'separation of church and state' b/c they were so horrified of the past (Reformation) but I don't think they think of that. I really think they should concentrate on their similarities...but I wouldn't hold my breath.

that are you? a million. once you're a Jew you seek for a demonstration bearing directly to familiar interpretation of outdated script. 2. once you're a gentile you seek for know-how with the aid of good judgment, reason and philosophy. 3. while you're in any different case non secular or non secular you seek for what feels suited, or what you parent on your soul to be genuine (i'm unable to help pointing out that there is not a scientific enormous distinction right here). proceed decrease than ------ a thank you to perceive a faux instructor: a million. Jew: Does the instructor deviate from the classic writings of modern Jewdaism? 2. Gentile: Does the instructor's statements contain logical fallacies? 3. different/non secular: Does the instructor's sayings experience incorrect or evil? if so, then you certainly could be coping with a faux instructor.

He's talking about things like purgatory (being punshed when u die for all ur sins before u get into heaven) and things like that, the way that catholics focus on the virgin mary etc...
In actual fact, the gospels are the books in the bible which tell us of Jesus

What he means is that Roman Catholics have things that they have to do in order to be saved and they have to keep repeating these things in order to assure their salvation. He has no standing to judge whether or not Catholics are saved Christians. He can only judge outward things, he cannot judge the state of a person's salvation.

Not that any gospels are true, but some people need to justify their particular brand of belief by saying that all others are wrong. It may relate to leftover feelings from the reformation or it may just be human nature.
Now as an atheist, I know better... (Note the irony in that statement, and the smile that I write it with)

The proof is in the Bible.
The Roman Catholic Church prohibited the Bible, except in Latin and for its own priests (many of whom did not understand Latin) and burnt any who possessed, read, lived by or circulated it and strove to prevent it being made available in the language of the country.
The Reformation brought the Bible to the ordinary person in his language, at great cost in blood, and thereby the oppressive and persecutory power of the Roman Catholic Church was greatly diminished.
For some factual testimony of the extreme savagery and brutality of the Roman Catholic Church, read Foxes Book of Martyrs. This was meticulously compiled at the time of their ascendancy, under obvious jeopardy of torture and death, and which the Roman Catholic Church were unable to refute though they would dearly have loved to had they been able - you will need a strong stomach to finish the book in the light of the details of its horrific and inhuman conduct. If that doesn't convince you of its opposition to Christ then nothing will.
It still holds to its superstitions and false teachings, even adding more, but has been forced to adapt to the consequences of the Bible being freely available. It now twists Bible truths and distorts factual history to try to support its claims and pretends to believe the same as those who protest against it - the Protestants - only better!
The Roman Catholic Church appeals to the self righteousness and pride of man through outward and sensual means and stirs up a kind of emotionalism and sentimentalism that it claims is spirituality. It usurps God's rightful place in its claims and manipulation of its followers.
It is responsible, more than any, for the charge that religion is used by men to control others, and in its own case that charge is plainly true.
The Puritans saw it as antichrist and that charge is proved true by the Bible.
The Bible shows that God's church, His people is built upon the Apostles and Prophets with Jesus Christ the chief cornerstone. The words and teaching of the Apostles and Prophets are in the Bible. Christ chose and taught and trained the Apostles whom He picked to give them His authority to be His witnesses on whose reliable word all who come to Him could rely. They only, have the authority of God, being first hand witnesses of Christ in His life and teaching, death and resurrection. To them He gave His Holy Spirit to enable them to give their witness, in the Bible, for all men and all times. They gave their lives to and for this witness.
We are to listen to them and to them only, and no one else. Their word is God's word and is part of the Bible. No one else can have that authority nor be first hand witnesses.
Those who become a part of God's church, His people, do so through the Apostles word and by revelation from God. They do so through repentance and faith given by God. It is a work of God, an internal work in their spirit so that spiritually they are born again, made anew. This enables them to know God.
The Roman Catholic Church completely contradicts this both in teaching and practice and offers a pretence and counterfeit outward religion to those who do not know any better. They claim a false 'Apostolic' succession and a church tradition to be superior to the sufficiency of the Apostles word and the Bible. This is done to replace and thereby deny and supercede God's appointed authority, the Bible. No wonder they sought to prohibit the Bible for it is the Bible that exposes their pernicious claims. They use sophistry and pretence to retain their organisation's hold over men and like a chameleon will change their appeal according to the demands of the society in which they are. Their religion does not bring any to know God, being only the work of man. Only God can bring any to know Him and, obviously, by His work only.
But to those who do know, it is an antichristian organisation offering a false gospel that does indeed lead to eternal Hell.
I trust enough has been given to indicate the very real deception of the Roman Catholic Church.

If you add works to faith, then you are believing a false gospel. The catholics teach that works are necessary for salvation.
And what's funny is, every catholic will tell you that it is different works that do it. They can't even agree with each other.
