its just an urban legend. distilled water does take away the natural minerals found in water, but your daily food intake more than makes up for those minerals you arent getting. Besides, drinking distilled water removes harmful bacteria that may be present in ordinary tap water.

Because the water is distilled, it contains no minerals, so you won't be getting the minerals normally supplied from tap water. The type and quantity of minerals in tap water are highly variable depending on its source, even in places where the water lacks minerals, it seems people aren't dropping like flies from lack of minerals; I suspect people get most of their minerals from food.

Also, distilled water doesn't taste very good; for the same price you can buy bottled spring water; it tastes better and you'll get your minerals too!

It's totally an urban legend lol. distilled water is GOOD for you actually... water that is not distilled is not good for you because it is not clean and has all types of bacteria and gross yucky stuff you dont even want to imagine. it is true though that some chemicals and stuff in water are good for you and they are removed during distillation which is just a fancy word for boiling and steaming the water so all the yuck evaporates. still, drinking distilled water is better than tap water. i hope this answers your question. <:o)

Not on an occasional basis, but it really isn't the water I believe that nature intended us to drink to stay healthy. Minerals in water are important for our bodies to function at an optimal level.

Distilled water seems to have a bitter type taste, almost like water "lite." It almost seems "thin." I used to drink it, but I decided fresh spring drinking water is what's for me

This is true, but you would have to drink excessive amounts of it. If you were to drink only distilled water you would eventually die of thirst. This happens because distilled water, as compared to impure water, is unionized. The charge on the distilled molecule is such that it attracts sodium ions. They steal these sodium ions from your body to become ionized. Sodium is a very important part of just about every bodily function from movement to autonomic regulation of your body's organs.
