I was reading an article and it said a survey was done and they asked people between the ages of 18-50 if they had a tattoo. 1 in 4 people had a tattoo and 17% of them regretted it..

Do you have a tattoo and do you regret it?

I have one tattoo (tramp stamp) I got it when I was 17. Im about to be a mommy in 3 weeks and I do regret getting it to a certain extent, but I cant see it so then again it doesnt really bother me.

whats your story?!

I have so many tattoos that I started counting them by time in the chair instead of by individual tattoos. I got a lower back tattoo before people started calling them 'tramp stamps.' (A concept that I despise! I am not now nor have I ever been a tramp. Who thought of that name? A guy?) I have very large tattoos on both calves and a large one on my left shoulder. I have a two year old son and I do not regret any of my tattoos. As a matter of fact, I'll probably get more. :)

I have three tattoos and they all have a different meaning. So, no I don't regret getting them. I have my sons name on my right arm, my sign on my lower back, and a dream catcher in the middle of my upper back. I think if you get a tattoo it should have some sort of great meaning. Hopefully one that you won't regret 10 15 years down the line.

I have two, one on my wrist, and one on my upper arm. I will be getting much more, when i have the $. the one on my wrist I've had for only a couple months, but the other I've had for 5 years.

I don't regret them one bit. no matter how many tattoos i will get over the years, I won't regret any of them because i take a lot of time thinking of what i want and why.

I have a half sleeve, wrist tattoo and star on the insde of my other arm. I dont regret any of them, my wrist tattoo was during my honeymoon and its of a Rose because thats my wifes name. The star is part of a tattoo that Im going to work into another bottom sleeve, and the other half sleeve is of a bunch of stuff that represeents me and where I have been. Dont regret them at all, have had them for almsot 10 years.

I have two, ankle and lower back along my spine. I don't regret them and if I thought I would have then I wouldn't have gotten them. The only reason I can think of to regret a tattoo is that it was done on impulse. I know plenty of girls who went up to Canada to get that cute little butterfly or a flower and now two years later wish they hadn't because it's so generic. Mine are personal, my second is custom art and they reflect who I am. I'm sorry you regret yours but hopefully you will come to love it again. Congrats on the baby!

I have a tattoo that I got when I turned 40 and have not regretted it for a moment. Mine is also on my lower back and most of the time I forget it is even there.

I have a couple of tats and dont regret them cause they have a meaning behind them something to describe me. I have a few more to get i plan on getting a total of 13 cause of the number. I have an idea of what i want for all of them so I wont regret them. I think when people get things that are trendy they regret it like cartoons, or tribal bands (please no more tribal bands) i know a few people that got tribal bands and regret it i laughed when they got them and still laugh but to each his own. Good Luck and congrats with your new baby.

I have not regretted any of my tattoos. I regret the position I chose for one, and the artist that I went to for another (it could have been done so much better), but overall I have never regretted a tattoo design.

Here is what I currently have, and what I am also thinking of getting in the upcoming future.

Tattoo #1: Canadian flag on lower back

Tattoo #2: Heart on pelvic bone

Tattoo #3: Stick of butter with wings ('butter-fly') on right shoulder

Tattoo #4: Heart-shaped anklet on left ankle

Tattoo #5: Heart-shaped music note on right wrist

Tattoo #6: Anime-style angel on left hip from navel-height to mid-thigh

Tattoo #7: Kanji symbol for Ox (year of birth) on inside of right ankle

Tattoo #8: Kanji symbol for Aquarius on outside of right ankle

Tattoo #9: Submarine sandwich with parascope & propellers (submarine-submarine) on right shoulder, next to butter-fly.

UPCOMING TATTOOS:

- blue jay on right thigh
- monarch butterfly
- "Never look back"/"Sergite" script on right forearm (possibly with portrait of Sir Isaac Brock)

NEW IDEAS:

- Bass and Treble clefs on each foot
- Flowers that represent the month each member of my immediate family was born

I have four tattoos on my back/neck area. I have a lower back piece all the way across with my children's name and a tribal design, a butterfly on a flower, a female leopard head and a pheonix with a quote on the back of my neck. Each of my tattoos resemble something that was going on during a period of my life....I do not regret a one of them.
