The carnal man automatically loves the world, and defends it, and will not let go of it - and almost no one sees it for what it is. So the love of this world is the reason that most people who tell themselves they want to separate from the world will not succeed. They cannot leave what they say they hate, because they really love what they say they hate. They will merely redefine what they mean when they say "world".
Many people deify the devil and blame him for everything bad that happens to them. Well, I can assure you that the devil need not have anything to do with most professing Christians, they are doing fine damaging OR even damning themselves. The World (over which the devil reigns as the Prince of this World) and its deceptions, dainties, comforts, business, concerns, etc., is plenty enough to damn the souls of almost every man who will ever live.
You cannot rename something as ‘christian’ and do the same things as the world. Well, you CAN, but the only one that fools is you.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (1 John 2:15)

The 'IMACATHOLIC' one had me, until the ending of the rant. Yes, I do think Mother Teresa is in hell.
The point is not doing works to receive righteousness. The point is to examine yourself to see if you are in the faith.
You should examine if you truly want to follow Christ, or just do exactly what you used to do, only use His name to do it.
This is the original downfall of 'christianity', in that Constantine renamed all his subjects 'christian', and it became popular to be one. Just do what you used to, only now do it in the name of Christ.
It just doesn't work that way, and those who think it does are in for a very shocking reality check when judgment day rolls around.
I speak to myself as much as I do you.
May God have mercy on us.

the more we begin to investigate what we think we understand, where we came from what we think we are doing .. the more u begin to see we've been lied to .. we've been lied to by every institution, what makes u think for one minuet that the religeous institution is the only one thats never been touched? The religeous institutions of this world are at the bottom of the dirt ...they have benn put there by the same people that gave u ur govt, ur corrupt education .. that set up the international banking cartels, because "our masters" dont give a dam about you or your family .. all they care about is what they have always cared about and thats controlling the whole dam world ... we have been mislead away from the true and devine presence in the universe that men have called God ... i dont know what God is but i know what He ISNT .. and unless and until you are prepared to look at the WHOLE truth, wherever it may lead to, if u want to look the other way or if you want to play favorites, then somewhere along the way ur gonna find out ur messing with devine justice .... the more you educate urself the more u understand where things come from the more obvious things become and you begin to see lies everywhere ..... you have to know the truth and seek the truth and the truth will set you free ...

Don't worry we see the world and what it is like, how can anyone that watches the news, reads the paper not know about the wars, the starving, the desolation of natural disasters. It is the people of the world commercialism has taken over everything its all about "how much can I get" not
"how much can I give" .
Jesus left his disciples among the world to help the people hear if they had an ear to listen and a heart to comprehend and understand the teachings of loving and compassion.
I don't understand what you are saying about the renaming "christian" thing. You mean you cannot become a Christian and still participate in the world, but Jesus sat with known "sinners" (tax collectors) because they wanted to hear the word. Jesus came for the weak not the faithful he came to save and teach. This is what a Christian does whenever the opportunity arises, always giving Jesus credit for His teachings of course.

Okay, true. But this world is temporary. What lies ahead is eternity.
We are human and by being human no one is perfect. All Christians make mistakes and some are even really misguided.
You're right, the devil was given reign of this world but God wants us to follow His lead and love each other as much as possible and do our best here.
Jesus taught forgiveness, love, peace, meekness. If we are not following His lead we are not perfect, but luckily He grants us forgiveness so no matter what if we truely know in our hearts that we want God's forgiveness, He will do it!

Man has a fallen nature.
That is why God sent Jesus with the Sacraments to keep us in the Grace of God even though we will never be perfect.
He actually made it quite simple and it not only gives us an eternity in heaven, but also happiness on earth.
Peace be with you.

*Worldly* is seen different through different eyes and hearts....... *shrug*, what it all boils down to is what your heart convicts you of, as being right or wrong, worldly or godly..... Keeping things simple, to ME, is the way to go...... Yes, I have a pc, I am on it now, but I do not use it for such things as porn, making people unhappy, etc...... I have a TV, same thing as the pc, I keep the shows I watch simple..... I do not buy fancy cloths, diamonds, yes I have a few, nor do I have a closet full of shoes that I do not wear....... those are just a few things that come to mind....... but, if others do not see their spending habits as bad, then so be it..... in their hearts it is not a bad thing....... go in peace....... God bless

You reek of wisdom. I am so tired of hearing people justify liberal behaviour with "well, Jesus hung out at bars and fraternized with the world". I have yet to see a Christian preaching in a bar, but I have seen plenty of them drunk in there.(I was drunk in there for a couple of decades.) So many of us believe that we can walk with one foot in the world. As you stated, it does not work that way. This is why so many unbelievers scoff at Christianity. They see no evidence that the power of Christ causes any life change. The "christians" are no different then they. They are sad and angry, their marriages fall apart, same as them. Why on earth would they want to join? The "do not judge" line is a tad tiring as well. Remember this. Jesus is God. He created this whole affair. He has made plenty of judgements prior to donning a suit of skin and bone. He hates sin. He does not lovingly accept it as many "christians" like to maintain. He told the woman at the well to sin no more, so obviously he felt that her promiscuity was misbehaviour. He also refrained from hugging the money changers. Seems he got a bit upset with them. He felt that their doings were a bit out of line. Judgement? We really know very little about Jesus' life here on Earth. We have a tiny bit of documentation, yet we pretend to know every word and action associated with him. I like to think of Mother Theresa as a good example as one who sacrificed her life on Earth. She prayed to Mary. Do you think she is in hell?

It is important to remember God so loved the world He sent His only begotten Son.
We can love God's creation and others without the coventeousness of greed or selfish want.

Evidently you do not work for a living. Working requires you be in the real world.
I do pity your narrow mind though. You must have a very dull life. Is church the highlight of your week? LMAO!

They can sense the world. They have no evidence of God. Of course they, and all sane people. love the world and not some imaginary sky-pixie.
Telling somebody to love God is like asking a girl to love a man she's never met.
