Here are some volunteer opportunities in Hawaii to help the homeless:

You can also search on your own zip code to find projects locally.

Habit for Humanity is a great organization that provides housing.

help out with homeless shelters - volunteer to work there first so you can understand more about why these people are homeless and then you can figure out a solution to help them. But people are homeless for different reasons and no two cases are even the same.

You may want to start an enterprise which only employes people who want to work their way off the streets - you could look into grants as it may register as a charity.

there are many reasons why someone becomes homeless.we cant blame government all the time.these people may think that is the only chioce they have.some still might be too proud to ask for help even from family, who probably dont even realise.but just think times are getting tougher even for the none homeless so just think one thing, where and how are you going to spend that next dollar?
