will definitely regret having them when they get into their 30's, married and start having kids. The fun thing they did on spring break when they were 19, isn't very fun anymore at 35, looking all faded and wrinkled skin. Ewww. They do help us guys know who wants to get it on, though, at bars, parties, etc. So, they come in handy for that, bullseye....But later in life, I think the women will regret them, you agree?

I don't care what personal reasons you got the tattoo for, i.e. religious, spirtual, whatever, it sends the impression to men that you are loose and easy. You might not agree with me, but I am a man. I was in a fraternity in college and I know how men think. Like the Wedding Crashers movie when Vince Vaughn saw the tat on the girls lower back, he said, "bullseye". And that's usually what it is, it's a slam dunk.

To the women who say, "but I have a tat on my lower back and i'm not slutty, trampy etc," that's great, but their are EXCEPTIONS to every rule. And even if you are not slutty, you still give off the impression to strangers that you are, if you are wearing something that shows it, sorry, it's just a fact, live with it, face it, own up to it.

I completely agree with you!!!!! On everything you said originally and then added later to comments. My ex wanted me to get one soooooooooooooo bad but I refused. I said I might as well just get a bulls eye that says "c*m here" on it.
I am not against tattoos at all. I have two and want a few more, but my tattoos are very personal to me. I don't just walk into the tattoo parlor and say, "yippy let’s all get bugs bunny, fer sure, totally awesome that would be"
No, if I'm going to deface my body it's going to be with something that means something only to me. I have one tattoo that I can't even explain it's meaning because it runs deep, for me.
For those who have "tramp stamps" you knew what they implied when you got them whether you are actually that way or not. So you can't complain if guys think you are easy. Sluts started them so they could send a message without being openly slutty. (I think I just made that last sentence up, but you know what I mean).
Granted the thought process on "tramp stamps" is slowly changing but not fast enough. I have friends who have them and it doesn’t change my opinion of them in the least, but they all got them for what it implied not because it was an original idea.
Just because shooting up High Schools is the in thing, would you do that knowing what people would think even if you were "different and not like all the other serial killers“?????
If I want to be slutty I don't want the whole world to know or even think it. Discretion goes along way. A tramp stamp is like a huge billboard, in my opinion of course.
To all you angry tramp stampers. I'm entitled to my opinion so I don't want all the angry flake. Because I actually could care less if you hate my opinion or not.

Ok, although you ARE entitled to your opinion. Why do you care so much to ask it on Yahoo Answers? Yes, I have one...am I a tramp...no! Trust me there are lots of tramps out ther who don't have any tattoos at all! Why would where it is on your body make a difference? Shouldn't every tattoo be a tramp stamp then? The reason I got mine there is if I wanted to show it I could, if I wanted to hide it it was easy to do so! As far as in their 30's and married...I'm 30 and my husband loves mine...my kids, well I'm sure when I have them they would think it's cool because it's elegant (flowers with color) and not trashy and dull. If it fades, I'll get it touched up! As far as wrinkles...if I get wrinkles there #1 noone will be seeing it but my husband and #2 I think he'd be more freaked out from the wrinkles than the tattoo and there's nothing you can do about that!!!
So, no, I don't agree!!!

Its shallow people like you that perpetuate this stereotype. I am married and I have a son. My tattoo has never been a "bullseye" for anyone. Ever. I've had it for almost ten years and have not once regretted it. If you think you can look at a woman's body art and tell who she is, you must not know very many women. You're probably, what, like 18? When you grow up and start seeing women as something other than flesh, you'll realize just how ridiculous this question is.

So let me ask this, if a woman doesn't have a lower back tattoo yet reveals her lower back you don't assume she's a "tramp"? But if she has the tattoo and does reveal it she is?
Hmmm....let's think about this people. Oh no. Maybe I'll never wear swimsuits and hip hugging jeans again!
Idiot.

You don't get a tatoo in hopes of regreting it one day. And if you will in fact regret it one day, then perhaps they should not have gotten it to begin with. I do not have a "tramp stamp" on the small of my back, however I do have one on my wrist and one on my spine. You don't get a tatoo and the only thought be ..what will it look like in 30 years. No, you get one to symbolize a period in you life that you want to remember. Yeah, maybe that girl that got that tat on spring break wishes she didn't get it when she look back 20 years later. But i bet she can look at that tat and remember everything about that day..because its like taking a picture. The only difference is you can loose a picture....its harder to loose a tat!
And a girl having a tat should not be the reason you decide to hit on her or not at a bar. I for one would be offended. I didn't get a tatoo in hopes of some guy seeing it at at bar and saying f'in a....i'm hitting on her cause she is going to be easy. Yea right...people get tats for them not for you!

I have a tattoo on my lower back and I'm a 36 year-old mother of two - not slutty. I got my Scottish clan crest tattooed there because where else was big enough to hold it? I think you're the one with the problem - narrow-minded, judgemental, prone to stereotyping, and I find that ugly.

Wow.... so women get wrinkled skin at 35? Have you ever seen how beautiful a 35 year old woman is?? I know several ladies who are getting a tattoo in the small of their backs at 35..... and older! How many times have you been slapped for asking a woman with a tattoo if she wants to "get it on"? Do you seriously think that a tattoo, in the small of the back or anywhere on a woman's body gives you the right to think that they are "asking for it"? I don't think you have a very high opinion of women in general..... You're what can give us guys who think all women have great qualities, no matter what they put on their bodies, a bad rep.!!!

I have a tattoo running along my spine ending in my lower back, it was my choice and it's my design. I wont regret it and just because a girl may have a huge, super ornate tattoo there does not make her easy. You don't know who she is try getting to know her. A lot of women (including myself) get tattoos there not because they are trampy but because it's easy to hide for work, that area of our body tends to not stretch out during pregnancy and is easier to tattoo. It's a more natural position to sit or lay down and the slightly fattier sides cut down on pain. No, I don't agree. It's extremely rude and judgmental. Plenty of very smart, beautiful, happily married women with children who are older have them and don't regret them. The tattoos that anyone, not just women, are more likely to regret are ones done in haste. Remember, a tattoo doesn't change who the person is already. If she is a tramp without the tattoo she will be with it, and if she isn't then you just discriminated based on something you see as negative in your own eyes. To each their own, please try to be nice though.
-Bear said it perfectly, bad question. It's one thing to think it but another and completely disrespectful to EVERYONE to post such hate. Oh and about lower back tats looking silly on a middle aged woman, anything has the odds of looking silly from the purple clothes and red hats that many women seem to adopt (including my grams, ugh, how embarrassing) so a tattoo is really nothing of your concern.
-Yes,there are exceptions but the stereotype puts everyone under the bad perception. If you don't care then why do you ask? Just to voice your negative thoughts onto everyone?

I don't personally have one on my lower back, but no matter where a girl gets a tattoo, men tend to think they are easy. some men are just pigs and want to put women down by saying that their mark of independence and strength is really just an invitation for sex. Trust me guys, if a woman is easy and wants to have sex with you, she'll let you know. I think most women that have a tattoo on their lower back got it there because it looks nice and it is one of the less painful spots.

I personally don't care for tattoos on women, But on the other hand I do not hold them in judgment ether. Because all women are unique in there own way. I haven't met many women I didn't like.
