I am a male age 31 weight 170 punds. I use to weigh 215punds till I started watching what I eat and managed to bring it down.

During my work week I normally take to work with me an apple, peach, plum, banana and a small lunch. In between i might sneak in rice cake ( caramel/chocolate chip). These I tend to eat at 2hr intervals but inbetween I get these hunger bursts. I then try to drink either hot water or cold water but it doesnt seem to cut it that much. Throughout the day I do drink my 2l of water though ..

Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong? What can I do to control my hunger but not build up calories (I have an office job so I sit all day, physical activity is the result of a 5-10 min walk during break sometimes).

drinking water is what usually works for me. It's hard to sit all day too. Try chewing some gum. Maybe you are not really hungry, but your brain is receiving that message, so chewing sugar free gum may help. Also it sounds like a lot of sugary carbs - even though the fruit is good for you, try adding in some crunchy veggies like raw carrots or celery. And make one of your snacks nuts (unless you are allergic of course.) Nuts are a great source of omega fats which you need anyway. They are a bit higher in calories, but if you measure them out, it won't add very much (because you will be cutting out some of the fruit calories) and it will be some protein which will make you feel full longer. A lowfat/nofat yogurt that is low in sugar (like stoneyfield farms) with some kashi nuggets (looks like grape nuts but is higher in fiber and protein, plus it tastes better) will add protein without adding a lot of calories. The problem with all the fruit is your body is burning it off faster than it would a fat or a protein. Try snacks that are a combo of fat protein and carb, but stick to the serving size to keep the calorie count down. Good Luck, and congrats on the weight loss so far!

You need to eat more, eating that little slows down your metabolism. Foods high in fiber and protien keep you full longer. You've got the right idea with the water but add some nuts like almonds or cashews. Maybe a cereal like Fiber One rasin bran or honey clusters (Its expensive but good). Or have some egg whites before you leave the house.

Sounds like you are short on protein. Try adding some almonds, cottage cheese (low fat), or other protein to help sustain you better.

Brush your teeth after eating. No one wants to eat with a nasty tooth-paste taste in their mouth. :)
