I have heard some horror stories about people signing up for cruises from some discounters. Can you give me the names of any that turned out great for you?

Your best bet for getting good discounts are:

(1) book early, like 9 to 12 months early because all of the cruise lines give early booking discounts.

(2) Most of the cruise line discounts are shown right on their web site. So if you are shopping for a discount or deal, just go to the cruise line web sites and browse. I know that Royal Caribbean advertises its deals or specials as "HOT DEALS". So go to their site and click on the link that is right on their home page: "See All Hot Deals". The dates for their "deals" will be shown in red and will cover a variety of cruises.

Carnival Cruise line also has a link on its home page for "SPECIALS", so click on it for their deals.

Norwegian cruise line also has a home page link for specials:

There area a lot of new cruise ships which has caused priced to drop on many lines. You just have to shop around to find the specials. You can be much safer dealing with the cruise lines than you can dealing with discounters who are pushing the block cruises that they have booked.

Carnival cruise lines are great and may have better pricing. They sell more cruises per year than all the other cruises. Going in groups can save you money as well. check out this website at www.mysunnydaygetaway.com for some great prices. Hope this helps.
