I've kept my distance from them since I saw them all playing in the parking lot about a week or two ago because I know Mama Cat more than likely won't let me anywhere near her babies, but I loooove watching them play. All of the kittens are absolutely adorable and I'm now worried that they may get hurt. The people in my apartment complex aren't exactly the world's best drivers (there are a few people who park in spots that aren't even parking spaces, if that tells you anything **rolls eyes**), and I'm scared that I'm going to walk outside one day to a run-over kitten :-(
I'm a little if-y about calling the animal shelter because I'm afraid they'll put Mama Cat and her babies to sleep. I already have a VERY territorial cat of my own so I can't take them in myself. What should I do about Mama Cat and her kittens?

This is one of those situations where you have to consider the lesser of two evils. Is it better for the cats to remain homeless and at risk for terrible diseases or injury or give the kittens (at least) a 50/50 chance of being adopted into a wonderful home.

I'm afraid you're probably right about the mother cat, but nothing will happen to her until after the kittens are weaned. There's a chance that she might come around and have a chance at being adopted as well.

I hope things work out for this little family. God bless you for caring enough to ask.

If any thing as long as Mama cat is healthy and the kittens are fine then call a shelter known for open arms and warm hospitality.
If you notice they are a little under weight leave some dry cat food out and maybe some whole milk once every two days then when they are plump call a nice shelter.
This is the only way to go the quicker you get them to the shelter the less chance that they will be feral and diseased. As for mama cat try to get her used to you then you can take her to the shelter without harm.
Do this quick because once they are old enough they will be out of there.

Call local no-kill shelters and sanctuaries. Google search with your zip code. Also, try contacting these people for advice or perhaps help:

I see you're in Georgia. If I can think of a contact in that area, I will write back and let you know. But try the Google search and the links first.

I would be worried about those cute kittens and their momma too. In Petfinder.com, they have a link for shelters and you can search by state. I would look up your state for organizations that advertise they are "no-kill" shelters.
