Now we have Osama holed up and inaccessible in Pakistan and we sit back and offer rewards while Musharraf negotiates with the sheiks who are hiding him; and we have our allies the Kurds attacking our allies the Turks and neither the US military nor the Iraqi government is willing or able to stop them.

Doesn't this mean that Turkey has the right to invade Iraqi Kurdistan?

Mike--I'm fully aware that the situation is more complicated than we even have space or time to discuss here.

My point was about precisely those simplistic formulations that got us in over our heads in the Mideast. Last I heard, the pakistani government had withdrawn most of their troops from Waziristan in a bid to preserve Musharraf at the expense of capturing bin Laden. If you've got evidence to the contrary that I should see, send it to me in an email. I promise I'll read whatever yoou send.

Perhaps you could share the Grid reference for OS.B.L ?

As Pakistan is a very big place.

You might email the grid-reference to the US military as well,

I would hate to see tons of munitions dropped on the wrong place at the tax-payers expense.

With regards Turkey and the Kurds thats outside the boundary's of the US Mission in Iraq, It can be classed as a local dispute.

And what makes you think that Pakistan is harboring him? Are you not aware of how many Pakistani troops die each week fighting in that region?

BTW - the Kurdish situation is more complicated than the simplistic viewpoint offered by the news media. This is another example of you needing to learn something about the subject before you comment.

Pakistan has a large number of Bin-Laden supporters, and there have been many attempts at the President of Pakistan's life. If we were to find and kill Bin-Laden, his supporters would rally together and most likely kill their current President and takeover the government.

Yes, he did say that, and he also said "if you aren't with us, you're against us". No neutral ground there.
Does Turkey have the "right" to invade Kurdistan? Nobody has the "right" to invade.... but they do it anyway. This is far from over, and there will be international wars, leading to full scale world war and governments will be overthrown, and millions will die before it's all over.
