Does the US Immigration Policy Harm Domestic Workers?

Question

This is an economic question to do with SUPPLY and DEMAND. Some ideas and suggestion will be very helpful. Essay form if possible.

The policy not to deport when found and not to build the wall and not to Jail employers of illegal alien invaders does indeed harm the domestic workers. If there were no Illegal domestics the wages for the legal domestic would be higher and their standard of living better
Less supply of illegals working for next to nothing would bring demand up as supply of illegals workers would be down

Absolutely. Over supply weakens demand which lowers wages. And you have hit the nail on the head as to why we have mass immigration to this country when it isn't needed. Meat-packing, construction, IT all used to pay good wages and be safe professions. Look at all the e coli now - workers went from 25 dollars an hour to 8 dollars an hour. Same with construction. IT wages have been cut by 2/3 due to outsourcing, H1-B's and green cards.

Any time you hear supply side economics - run for the hills! Supply without demand is useless - and cheap!

domestic workers??? like housekeepers??? maybe you mean US citizens.

Either way, the answer is no. Immigrants do different things. They do manual labor that US citizens simply don't do anymore.

For example...in my state, they are big on keeping up the roads and so immigrants are getting state jobs and they're out in the hot sun all day, picking up trash...US citizens have said it, loud and clear, that they don't do that kinda work anymore.

Frankly, I think the immigrant population are the only people who make life in the USA interesting and tolerable.

Nope. illegal aliens hurt the domestic worker.

If a scumbag employer can get an illegal alien to do a job for $5.00 an hour and no benefits, then why would they pay a legal worker $15.00 and hour with benefits?

illegal aliens are bad for the USA, in many ways! This is just ONE example.

illegal immigration only hurts ... it hurts if you cant hire legal skill workers, it hurts the quality of the product and it abuses the pay level of illegal workers!!! the only one who gets richer are the companies that abuse illegal workers,our immigration laws are a sham, they are not in forced and they don't protect the American worker or the American consumer !!!!

Farmers are already moving their business to Mexico. Farmers in the US are facing troubles... nobody, at least not US citizens, want to pick fruits and veggies. and so we have crops not being picked.
