Is having a GF all it's cracked up to be? I'm homeschooled and almost 14, almost. Never had a girlfriend, I go to church blah blah blah.... But, is having a GF all they say it is? Is it really that great? Or is it like taking care of a baby, if you call them a minute past six they whine 4 six hrs. Is it all they say it is?

Only if she is enjoyable. I mean having a girlfriend just for the sake of having one is a waste of time, the whole reason behind wanting to be around or missing someone is because you mutually enjoy each others company and feel happy when they are near. If you don't both feel that then it doesn't mean a thing. When you do feel this you will want to go out on a limb for her and do things you wouldn't normally do because it makes you happy to see her happy and vice-versa. It is a feeling you have to experience, no one can really make you understand till you go through it yourself. A career is for the rest of your life, girlfriends may come and go. You would have the ability to provide a nice home and nice things for your family so yes pursue a career girlfriend or not. A girlfriend shouldn't interfere with that. It's all part of life. The right girlfriend will stand behind you and support you in positive things like a career. After all she could be a potential wife someday you know! Don't freak out I'm sure that is many years down the road but it will happen someday!

It all depends on what kind of person you are and also who your with. I've have an amazing girlfriend of 4 years now and my life has been awesome. Super caring supportive and everything I could ask for. Now its not all fun and games either, we also fight and all that stuff but thats part of life, No matter who your with you will always have disagreements. But on the other hand of this some people are better off with out someone by thier side. So again its all in what kind of person you are and the girl your with. You have too see what you want and what you don't want in a relationship. So date around before you get with anyone but your still young 14. I didn't get my first girlfriend till I was 16 and been with her since. So sometime you get lucky like I did to find someone amazing at your first go around. But don't give on it there are millions of girls out there. And one more thing being homeschool makes it a little bit more harder because your not surrounded by people for those school hours. But doesn't mean its impossible. Good luck man in the hunt, don't give.

Depends on the girl. If you find the right one, then you'll have a nice time together and everything will be great. But, girls and boys at age 14 are often very different to each other, and like to do different things, so you might just have a lot of hassle. You're 14, I'm not surprised you've never had a girlfriend, you're very young. My 14 yr old nephew has never had a girlfriend, and doesn't particularly want one yet. And I didn't have my first proper boyfriend til I was 17. Make the most of being a kid while you can. Go out with your friends, play sports, chill out, do what you like to do. Being in a relationship involves a lot of compromising, so enjoy not having to do that while you can. But, when you're older, and boys and girls maturity have levelled out, hopefully you'll meet a nice, easy going girl with whom you'll have a nice life.

U are only 14 man. So jus chill 4 a bit n enjoy life. Gettin a girlfriend is not what life is about. But, a girlfriend is someone u want to spend time with and actually enjoy spending time with. And by enjoy i don't only mean making out and sex. It can be alsmost anything that the both of you do together. I had a girlfriend that i really enjoyed being with. Anything we did was fun. Thats how it should be. Do not get a girlfriend just for the sake of it. Sooner or later you will definitely get tired of her and one of you is gonna get hurt. That being said... u are 14! Go and have some fun! See what life has to offer!

Well, I've had the same girlfriend for 4 years and it's been great for the most part. We hang out all the time. It's basically like having a best friend with benefits. Although, you are right. You do have to deal with the occasional complaining and you do have to do a bit of taking care of. For me, I'm saving my money for something so we never go out or spend much money. You can't do that with a new girlfriend but once she's been around awhile it gets easier to say things like, "Hey, lets not go out for the next couple of months".

First of all not girls are the same. Not all girls are going to whine about silly things. It is your job if you decide to pursue a girl to find out what she is like by being friends with her first, rushing into to it never works and usually ends in disaster. Having a girlfriend can be a great thing, just make wise choices!

You are one lucky chap.

DON'T, repeat DON'T get a girlfriend.

It's worse than what you described. Having good friends who are girls, is good. You can understand how girls are, act, behave, et cetera. But especially for you (never had 1 b4), it wouldn't be a good idea to have one right away.

Remember, girlfriends are a wate of time, energy and $. At least till when you do want to marry.

Some'll say that u need to know girls before you get too old. But having good friends who are girls helps you, without the hassles of a girlfriend.

You should focus o both. On a girl and a career. Gf's are great they love you. They cre for you. And you feel happy. But a career is good to. You can have a gf and plan out your career. Hope you know what your going to do!

If you're with the right girl it can be great. You guys can share passions, interests, affection, and opinions. With the wrong girl it can be miserable. You just have to find a woman that's a good match for you. Good luck =)

Having a gf can be fun; not all girls whine. You get to know someone before they become your gf, so if you don't like the way they act...move on.
