This is a traditional club sandwich.

Club Sandwiches
Take four slices of bread and spread them with butter or margarine.
On the first slice place ham and some mustard. (Optional)
Place the second slice of bread on top of Ham, and cover with mashed egg, seasoned with S&P.
Place the third slice of bread on top of egg, and cover with de seeded tomato, seasoned with S&P
Top with forth slice of bread, spread side down.
Cut crusts from the sides and cut into fingers.

If possible get a loaf of caterers sliced bread.
It is cut lengthways, instead of across, so you can make several at a time.

First, make sure the bread is not too hard and not too soft. Then add whatever you like, but the main ingredient, to me, would be the dressing. I like the Miracle Whip salad dressing or the Hellmans real mayonnaise with a small amount of honey mustard sauce.

there's a eating place in Chicago observed as Gullivers that makes a "to-die-for" Veggie club. Sliced avocado Sliced meaty tomato Sliced mushrooms (gently sauteed) 2 slices of Provolone or Muenster cheese Very skinny slice of onion Sprouts 3 slices of toast Mayo carry at the same time the club employing the mayo as "glue" to hold it at the same time. Wrap in aluminum foil to maintain it heat and carry it in place jointly as you're ingesting it. this is purely extra special.

Bacon...it can't be too crispy or undercooked. The bacon has to be just right. I hate eating a club sandwich when the bacon is so hard you can't chew it or when it crumbles and falls everywhere.

ugh.. I'll say bacon.. crispy bacon and crunchy lettuce and juicy tomato with a hint of salt and pepper..
Or hot salami.. or pastrami.. but it's only for sandwich not necessarily for a club sandwich..
