Depends on the cat and its personality rather than the sex. I have noticed with my cats that females get a lot more loving after they have been spayed. Also have noted, both with my cats and friends' cats, that females usually prefer the male humans in the household, and males the females.

I have 2 cats, 1 male and 1 female, the female one tends to be more adventurous and brave, whereas the male one likes to stay on my bed and get stroked and sit on my lap.

I guess it depends how you treat them and what the cats personality is like, I remember we got told female hamsters always bite and were horrible, so we bought a male one, then 3 years later bought a female one and it turned out to be the cutest, sweetest hamster ever and never bit anyone!

It really does depend on how you bring the cat up.

Definitely males cats unless you get your female cat fixed so she doesn't have a litter of kittens! I've had about 5 female cats who had a litter of kittens and after the kittens were born, their personality changed. Part of this may have had to do with the fact that I kept one kitten from each of the litters which made the moms rather cranky.

Cats each have their own unique personality. So, it is impossible to generalize. Try to find a kitten which is highly affectionate and you should have good results. The cat I have now was a very beautiful kitten who was not very affectionate. She is a year old now and is still that way. She doesn't like to cuddle or sit on my lap and when I pick her up, she struggles to get away!

Hmm, we have this conversation at my work all the time. From personal experience, and that of many of our clients (I work for a veterinarian), and a coworker of mine, we have found that, on average, male cats seem to be friendlier. As a proud owner of 6 cats (5 of which are male), I find that my boy kitties are much more affectionate and always want to be around me and my husband. Our female kitty is not very affectionate or social. She is a sweet cat and she has her moments, she just doesn't really go out of her way to hang out with us or anything. Our male kitties talk to us all the time, and they love to be anywhere we are. Of course, all cats are different and you may have a different experience, but this is what I have found in my relationship with my cats.

You know, this all depends on the cat, what breed they are, how they were raised, and how they are currently being treated. However, overall, I believe that males tend to be friendlier, more playful and more people-oriented. Females (a lot of them--not all) tend to be more aloof, self-sufficient, and have an "I couldn't care less" attitude. Plus, if you haven't noticed, females are a lot more "talkative" (mouthy) than males are, for the most part. So, it just depends of what type of personality you prefer in your cats.

from my experience i have always found that the male cats tend to come to you for cuddles and kisses more than females. i have a male and female cat at the moment and the female HATES being picked up and stroked whereas the male loves it. he jumps on my bed at night and nudges my head to the side then crawls under the blanket to sleep with me.. my cats have just had kittens and the 2 males are more cuddlier than the females. i dont know how im gonna sell the girls! lol

I expect it varies a lot. Peronally I've found males are more soppy and loyal, while females are a bit more sensitive and aloof- but that's not to say they're any less affectionate.
I've had 7 cats over my lifetime so far and this has nearly always been the case.
The boys are quite dopey and attentive, even though they roam and hunt a bit more- unless they're fat, toothless and lazy like the one I had years ago...and the girls usually more temperamental, and pick scraps with the boys!

They are both loving. I have 1 male and 2 females and the male is more affectionate. The females are affectionate on their own time.
