Women are naturally inclined to be organized while men are hunters, money makers, and aggressors. Quit whining and b*tching about it and accept it. You don't see men on here asking "how come women don't move heavy furniture when they need to move?" Men are strong and good with their hands, women are good with organization. Besides, would you really want a man who's more organized than you and primps in the mirror more than you? Think about it

You are generalizing about ALL men based on the actions of one, your boyfriend. To think all men act in manner he is erroneous. There are men out there that are very organized and have their **** together. On the same token it would erroneous to suggest that ALL women are organized. The fact that you are organized and on top of things in relation to Christmas shopping and you're a woman doesn't mean every other woman is the same way. Besides, I am sure there is something in your life you aren't quite as organized. I am not bashing anyone, but trying to get the heart of your question.

I think what you mean in your question by "all men" is really "my boyfriend". It could be that your boyfriend doesn't take Christmas shopping in a serious manner, or he doesn't enjoy it. For some Christmas shopping is a very fun thing to do. For others it is more of a chore. He probably falls into the latter, or somewhere around it. He is likely not going to put a lot of effort into something he doesn't enjoy. Maybe being organized is just not apart of his personality type. I am very much a type A. All my things are clean, organized, and in their place. My sister, on the other hand, is the total opposite.

To be fair, Christmas is coming up, but it is still ten weeks out. I think he would fall into the majority being that he hasn't thought about Christmas shopping. That majority includes both men and women. It is human nature to put things off until the last moment.

He sounds like a sensible guy and you sound like a fanatical person. It is early October, Xmas is almost 3 months away, and it is only one day anyway - why worry about it? If you carry on with such behaviour you might find him walking out the door so please be careful - with all honesty it is you that sounds like the odd one here. Please re-read your post above and see what you think of it. What would you think if someone else had written it?

As for Xmas - apart from the magic it brings to kids, it is vastly overrated to me. It is a religious festival yet people celebrate it having no interest in religion - this is hypocritical surely? And as for gifts - adults buy what they want or need all year round so they don't need more gifts that they don't want or need bought for them!

Chill back and enjoy life!

Ahh our brains are more wired to this sort of thing! Just reading Why Men Don't Have a Clue and Women Always Need More Shoes by Allan and Barbara Pease - is hysterical and also incredibly insightful on the differences!!

I think that in part it is because they grow up with their moms organizing everything for them, and not ever seeing their dads organize stuff. So they have no role models and no incentive to learn that habit.

Also, in general I think women are more sentimental than men, so they think more about things like holidays, gifts, cards, etc.

Not true.

My wife? Unorganised nightmare, paperwork all over, wardrobe a disaster, everything at the last minute. (or later)

Me? Totally in charge of things going on, filed in right order, wardrobe immaculate, always planned and prepared for whatever, always on time.

It's not a male/female thing.

You are just more organized than most. Maybe you have OCD, anyway. We men like to think we work best under pressure and if he is anything like me maybe he is just waiting for the sales. That's why I wait so long.

it's not that we aren't organized it that we procrastinate a lot!
We like to hold things to the last minute because most of us are apathetic. That is how were biologically built.

You see how I used my extensive vocabulary to look smart use guys do that to impress girls that's built in us too! LOL
