My sister wants to visit during Holidays, but my husband works very hard on those weeks and really just wants to relax. She only wants to come during the Holidays so I am feeling bad that I have to tell her no and yet I stand behind my hubbys thoughts on wanting peaceful time on his only 1 day off. She wont stay in a hotel and is feeling like an outcast. What should I do?

Ask her to come after your husband goes back to work. Then he's had his day off and you've had your family time. If you can. take a few days off from work to visit with your sister and have fun. If she says no then it's her problem. She is basically asking you to choose between your husband and her, then getting jealous when your choose him. How ever good your relationship is with your sister, you don't owe her a place to stay, especially if it is not convenient. I hope this helps. Happy Holidays!

If she's told you that she feels like an outcast then she's trying to manipulate your feelings. However your husband is being unreasonable. The holidays are for family, and they are as much for you as for him. Tell her that you would love for her to come, but staying at a hotel is what your husband prefers. Then let her make her choice.

Ask her to come after the holidays...and make it seem that the reason you want her to wait is so that you will be able to spend more time with her since your hubby will be working.

that is your sister!! the one person who knows everything about you!! more then that "hubby" of yours!! so if thats the only time she can come to see you and you tell her no, thats your problem, and personally i think it's wrong!! but thats just my opinion!!

Well tell her that she will just have to come another time and then tell her why.She'll understand.
