Hitler was raised a Roman Catholic, professed (in Mein Kampf) to be doing God's work and led a predominantly Christian nation to the Holocaust thanks to centuries of church-inspired anti-semitism. But then, this is documented history, so why don't you know it?!

The difference between Hitlerism and that strictly American organization called the KKK -- which is based deeply in Christianity -- you couldn't squeeze a dime between.
Edit: Well, there must be KKK-sympathizer sheet-heads here in R&S. Betcha they wish they could burn a cross on my answer instead of just giving a thumbs down. =P

nationalism, fascism, etc. all depend and heavily rely on the following:
-a major national religion as a uniting factor that can be exploited to unite its citizens
-blind patriotism; and the unification of national/religious concepts, ideology, and symbols.
-loyalty to political/public figures or collectives (party, "the troops", etc.) instead of values and law or the legal process.
i recommend the book by Chris Hedges "American Fascists: the Christian Right and the War on America"
anyone that doubts that Hitler was a Christian (or at least claimed or pretended to be one; whether he actually was one or not is a fact that no one could possibly know for sure) needs to read Mein Kampf. Hitler mentions "god" and more specifically "Jesus" more times then Bush does at a fundraiser.
and please...any child knows that Germany was and still is a "Christian" nation; and mainly protestant at that. 2/3 still claim to be protestant or catholic.

Not at all hard to figure out. The fact is, anyone who believes by faith rather than reasonably convincing evidence is vulnerable to manipulation. Check out the results of putting the term "propaganda" in a search engine. Or start with wikipedia.

Yuri, it is useless. Americans are only taught that John Wayne won the war. They do not even know when the war started.

Sadly I met people who thought Hitler did a good job, and that they would gladly continue it. I can't help but wonder, is it ignorance, lack of education and knowledge, or really sadistic people hiding their primitive wishes under slogans?

the nation called itself a christian nation but had lost most of its faith in God. Hitler was an atheist and after a time made people worship him as god. I know this for sure because i was raised in Germany and have heard a lot about ww2 thanks to my grandmother who lived through it in berlin.
please get your facts right next time.
