The Atheist knows he has nothing to fear (except man's laws), and (some) Christians think they have nothing to fear but God's laws.
Could it be that the Christian is more dangerous because he thinks that God will somehow save him if he breaks man's laws, and that God will always forgive him if he breaks God's laws?
This would allow both Christians and Muslims to kill in Iraq, and expect to be forgiven and even rewarded.

An atheist who knows there is no hell cuz he is right and he is not a danger. the christian is dangerous cuz no matter how far off the chistian is from reality, you cannot convince them they are wrong, they have no concept of reality, and they will kill anyone that challenges their lunatic beliefs. Organized religion is the single most dangerous thing on the planet.

An athiest or believer of any faith who do not obey the laws of the land are dangerous. Those who obey the laws of the land are loyal citizens and wealth of the nation. The Heaven or the Hell matters after death. The God may or may not forgive the believer who has not obeyed the laws. If the believer has committed a grave cruelty in the name of religion he is also likely to go to Hell.

It is remarkable how few atheists are in prison. I have not heard of any of them committing terrorist acts lately.
This is a tough one to decide.
Ok the Christian because he is guided by voices from invisible persons. We know that is delusional right from the start.
But atheists are intelligent and rational. If an atheist decided to externinate a person or group of people it would likely be done with a blood chilling efficiency and he would likely succeed in avoiding all suspicion. He might even sucker the Christian into doing the dirty work and taking the blame for it.

Christians pretty much know that man's laws bind them as much as they do anyone else.

Are there no atheists in our troops in Iraq? Or are they somehow less dangerous than any other soldiers there? Do they not receive the same weapons as anyone else?

Could it be that your question is poorly thought out?

Anyone who thinks they are above the laws of the land and morality is dangerous. There have been a few atheists with this problem, too. It's not a question of religion, but of mental stability and genetics.

Both Atheists and Christians have inherited empathy for others since we have evolved as a social species. Generally the number of people without a high level of that evolved empathy is relatively small.

The danger of religion is it gives despots who would ask people to act against that empathy a means of control over others they would not ordinarily have.

In the same manner of YOUR question, let ME ask YOU a question:

Which is worse, to leave your living room blinds open before you molest your children, or to close them first?

Is it possible that a blind person who can not see rainbows may actually be wrong when he says that rainbows don't exist just because HE can't see them?

Your conclusions are about at the same level as a 2 year old saying that numbers don't exist! Who says that God will "rescue" (er -save) someone if he breaks man's laws? Who says that Christians are allowed to kill with the foreknowledge that they will be forgiven and rewarded. If THIS is what you think, you're one ignorant fool! Why not get your facts straight before you go and tear down the straw men you build up in the vain imagination of your wicked heart!

An atheist does not fear any of these fictional places, they just don't exist, except in the minds of weaklings, who obsess over their beliefs.
Christians become dangerous when they become a "fundie".

the law of God says we are to follow the law of man. if you break the law on purpose with no regret how can you be forgiven. also you are saying there is no hell as if that were fact, how do you know?

All I have to say is that nearly all wars have a religious connection, from 'having god on our side' to full on religious wars. I've never heard of an atheist waging war.
Therefore the christian or any other religious person who thinks there's a heaven is far, far, more dangerous.
