The story of Sodom and Gomorrah talks about angels being threatened with rape by the homosexual townspeople as they visited the only "good" man there- Lot. Then God gets Lot out of there and destroys the wickedness. After Lot's wife turns into a pillar of salt for glimpsing at the destuction at hand, Lot and his daughters retire to the mountains for some camping or something. Anyway, Lot's daughter's come up with this brilliant plan to get their dad drunk and rape him so they'll carry on a seed or something like that. Does this story mean- Don't be a homo and ladies- rape your dads.????

both are. and worse those who mate with the same sex need not to wait for fire balls to fall from the sky, but what they did is their one-way ticket going to the lake of fire on the day judgement.

No, you shouldn't get reported for this question. It is a perfectly logical question. I am a CHRISTIAN and can understand your confusion to this scenario.

In answer to your question, both are equally wrong and both are equally sins.

The sisters had sex with their father because they didn't trust God to be in control of the situation and, due to their not knowing other countries and peoples, thought they were the ONLY ones left. Thus, to pro-create, they thought it was on their shoulders. They failed to trust God's plan and thus they wound up sinning twice, once by lack of faith once by the act of having sex with their father.

While it makes clear that homosexuality is a sin, it is no different that the person who is a fornicator, adultery, a liar, a thief, incest, a murderer, etc., all are equally sins.

The difference lies in whether or not one who commits any of these sins are truly repentant and sorry for their sin. If they are really sorry, they stop sinning. God knows the condition of the heart, that is, if they are sorry or giving lip service. All sins are forgiven to a truly repentant heart that follows Jesus, regardless of the sin. The KEY WORDS being TRU LY REPENTANT, which is define above.

BTW, Lot was righteous, he did not consent to the sex, he did it in a state of drunkeness. He did sin by the drunkeness, but not the other. The daughters were responsible for the sin of incest. Lot was angry when he realized what had happened.

A human who is righteous in God's eyes does not neccissarily mean that they are free from all sin. Humans, by nature, are sinful and will remain that way until judgement. Again, it is the state of the heart and whether one is truly sorry or if it is lip service. A truly repentant heart is covered by the GRACE of Jesus in forgiveness.

Accounts such as these would be conspicuous by their absence. If indeed your quandry is real and you are not asking a loaded question providing your own twisted slant on the situation, then the truth to the matter is that just because events occured in the Bible doesn't mean they were condoned by God. Quite the opposite. Everything that opposed God's Law had an adverse effect that was immediately dispensated. What it takes is reading just a bit further. Lot was called out of Sodom not because he was "good" but because he heeded a warning and was related to Abraham as his nephew. You won't see this though. No matter how hard you look and you prolly won't even look that hard because you really don't want to see...do you? Sexual sin is sin no matter how you slice it. I'm married and yet if I even look upon another man with that twinkle in my eye I may as well have done that thing. However, Jesus knows that given a choice...I would prefer to never venture but to be perfect if I could on this earth as in the next yet that is not possible and I have done this very thing. I hate this about me and any person that sins, no matter what the sin, that sees the sin and hates it. I know in my heart of hearts that I would never cheat on my husband...but what is it about me that would like to? That's what I hate. So sexual sin comes from the desire to sin no matter what it is and we honor God by turning from that sin and turning to Him. If Lots daughters had trusted God who just saved them from destruction then they would have been well off. If a homosexual person sees their propensity for what it is and detests that propensity then they can trust God to see them through it. What would it cost someone to go through life celebate and how would God feel about the decision that person made to do so? I can say with all trust and absolution that God would care and be deeply involved with that person. He would strive with that person, any person who resists evil and seeks His will. Look at Joseph who fled from Potiphers wife...so yes, many of the people and events in the Bible weren't all peachy and perfect...we'd have a tough act to follow if it were so wouldn't it. Jesus died for those folks too by the way. Love in Christ, ~J~

Uh - pardon, but it does NOT say that Lot was "good".

The account points out that God spared Lot because his uncle, Abraham, prayed for him.

This demonstrates the depravity of man and nothing more. It does NOT tell you to go out and do this or that. It also does not tell you to offer up your daughters to wicked men!

It is yet additional evidence that the Bible is real - it doesn't gloss over the sins of the people. It even describes King David's adulterous relationship with Bathsheba and his "murder" of her husband!

To create a lesson to this account that isn't there, or to fabricate an attack against the Bible based on this is just as silly as patting yourself on the back for tearing down a straw man you build in the vain imagination of your own wicked heart!

I wonder how many people actually applaud someone when they win at shadow boxing? Hmmmm.

Yay! a Lot question!

Hey... Lot's daughters thought they were the only ones left on the planet. It was a dumb idea, but they were acting for good whereas the homosexual sodomites simply wanted to rape the new guys in town.

Again, in some cultures, even now, it is legal/moral for a man to sleep with his daughters. So, this "question" is TWICE removed from any criticism of Christians.

Incest is the foulest thing on the face of this earth! Whereas there is absolutely nothing wrong with homosexuality! I' d rather have two consenting adults engaging in sexual activity, than have someone be a victim of incest!
You religious zealots should keep your religion in your churches, and in your homes! Instead of bringing your backward ideas of sexuality into the public! It is because of religion that more good information about sex,is not out in the open! They can't even show a commercial for condoms on t.v., because of christian censorship! But, they can show a commercial for male enhancement! What is wrong with that picture! Until religious zealots start to keep their ignorance about sexual matters, to themselves, there are going to be more rapists, pediaphiles, child molesters, teen pregnancy, and STD's !
WAKE UP, AND STOP THESE THINGS BY SEX EDUCATION, AND CONDOMS!
Trust me, on this on, ignorance is not bliss!

Incest is real grotty and I guess I kinda, sorta understand why they did it, but I don't think the story was saying "ladies, go rape your dads!". Homosexuality, however, I've never in my life seen anything wrong with it. I don't know why some people think it's bad or would put it next to incest.

The Old Testament is full of the hypocrisy of the Jews. Judah and Tamar for instance. Judah slept with Tamar then ordered her to be killed when he found out someone slept with her. Turned out to be his doing.

During the time of the judges the Jews constantly turned their back and neglected God.

David killed thousands of people. He was a murderer and had many, many women, and even had their husbands be killed so that he could have a chance at them.

These just show how often God's law is transgressed, and even when we are called his people we still cannot meet his moral standards of perfection. So we need a savior, someone to make up for our shortcomings, so that we could stand justified.

What's worse is people that attack those types of people. I have many homosexual friends and have done a lot of research into the subject, and while some do 'choose' to be that way, most of them are BORN that way, it has to do with a stem in your brain, the one that decides what you are attracted to. If the stem is longer in males they are gay, if it is shorter in females then they are lesbian. Males generally have a smaller stem and women have a longer one.

Also, incest is not wrong in the sense if the two committing the act are truly in love with each other. I know a brother and sister who are incestuous and they are the nicest people ever, them and homosexuals.

The only way that I see incest as wrong is when a father or mother rapes their child or if a cousin, uncle, aunt, whatever.

In the New Testament God the Holy Ghost proclaims Lot 3 times "RIGHTEOUS" so whatever he did was OK... He did OK to get drunk and have sex with his beautiful young virgin daughters until both of them got pregnant...!!! Praise The LORD... Hallelujah... Amen!

Incest implies that one person with the responsibility of another more vulnerable person takes advantage of their position and rapes them.

Homosexuality is just another layer of the beautiful strata that makes us human.

Sodom and Gomorrah sat over a huge underground volcano. It was not god, it was the nature of this planet we call home.
