Some of the answers I received to my questions made me cringe. People actually believe there's demons running around invading people's bodies.

Yes, they do.

I was watching the X-files last night and Mulder had a great line about how God may work in mysterious ways, but he sure uses a lot of psychotics to do his work. I tried to remember it, but I was half asleep.

Edit: Okay, got it: "He may well have His reasons but He seems to use a lot of psychotics to carry out His job orders."

Why do you think people believe they've been reincarnated?
The same demon that was in their ancestor is in them making them remember the other person's life. Demons don't die. They are evil spirits and they are full of wisdom. The wicked pursue them for knowledge and talent. Opening up to the demonic always ends in destruction of the human being. They will help you for awhile and then turn on you.

The unseen world is far more real than the world that you can see. Do you realize that the majority of UFO's are reported by commercial pilots or the air force and even astronauts?
These are not creepy people. I believe in the Bible literally and the Bible describes fallen angels, demons and UFO's.

I wouldn't want for you to be ignorant my friend and for that reason I creep you out.

Not particularly. "Demon attack" was the metaphor My Steve used to explain my flares of real temper. Often I barely remembered what I had said or done. A shrink might call it fugue state.

I think it is possible that many religious terms are in fact metaphors for the unknown processes of the human mind. Whether all the people who use those terms are aware of the fact that they are not literal is quite another story. After all, there are substantial numbers of people out there who claim to take the entire Bible "literally," which in my opinion distorts the term "literal" beyond recognition.

I do believe many blame Satan for possession and he's not to blame.
Yet I do believe there are some cases where people are truly demon possessed. I know a nun (I'm not catholic) who was present at the hospital here in St. Louis where the person was possessed that the film the exorcist was based.
He was a male.

i believe in life after death but i don't believe that Ghosts are just hovering around and possessing peoples' bodies.
but i do think that demons can be described as things like Greed, jelousy, things like that.

i don't know about demons possessing people but there are some evil people around.

superstition is a very contageous thing. some cultures and religions really live on it. but u gotta look at things with logic.

Not at all. Just because you haven't seen an exorcism (which I don't advise you do given your ignorance) doesn't mean it's not real. How do you know you aren't all demon possessed? I'm a Christian and I firmly believe in demonic possession.

Yes, but not neccesarliy because they believe in demon possession.

I think it's just more likely that people who DO believe in demon possession are, overall, creepy in many aspects.

That is creepy.

It's creepy to me when people put the blame for someone's mental illness on imaginary beings, and then don't get the mental or medical help that is needed for the person.

It's also creepy when people try to blame imaginary beings for wrongs that they do, instead of taking personal responsibility.

YES, There's a cult that comes by here and they claim I'm demonized but I haven't spit up green peas yet, I'm still watching to see if my head can do a 360.
