hi there,
im getting a chihuahua puppy in a few months time and i will be going to Orlando in october 2008, i would like to take my new dog with me. im not sure of the rules in taking a dog into the usa, will it be in qurantine for so many days or not??
my new puppy will be having all the regular injections a new puppy has plus boosters and regular chackups by the vet.
also will the dog be allowed to travel with me in the cabin as i will be purchasing an airline approved carrier.
if anyone knows the answers or knows of a site which will give me the answers it would be much appreciated

It depends on where you're coming from. You should also get a microchip put in him. I know that to get a pet into the EU, you have to have a check up within 10 days of the flight. Just to check if he's capable of flying.
Since he's small, he SHOULD be able to travel with you, but make sure you reserve the spot at the same time you get your tickets. Usually, only 6 pets are allowed to travel in the cabin on each flight. Check with whatever airline you're using.

Check with the airline. Check with US Customs. I thought any animal going to a new country has to be quarantined to ensure it is healthy. Perhaps your regular veterinarian can get you some information on traveling to another country with your pet.
