we've been together for 8 months now. i'm in my second year of college at a city about an hour away from home so i'm at a dorm. about 2 weeks ago he started at hometowncollege (so yes, he's a year younger, but very mature though!). we see eachother on weekends, but that's the way it was from the beginning. the last few weeks we rarely heard from eachother: i thought he was having doubts or was angry and he thought the same of me. when we saw eachother everything was fine though, no strange behaviour, ...
this weekend i spent the night at his place from saturday to sunday and we had so much fun: out for dinner, renting movie, we were hugging eachother all the time and so in love. things have never been better.
he also texts a lot more again, and yesterday he said he realised how much he loved me saturday, and that he was scared before cause he didn't hear from me, but that saturday "i appeared to be that sweet girl he fell in love with again."
what does he mean by this last sentence?

This sounds like normal "long distance realtionship" strains. You expected them right?

He sounds as though he cares a lot about you & maybe because he had not heard from you, or something you said or did, he was/is unsure if his feelings for you are reciprocated.
You are both young, love and enjoy life ... just be honest with each other & talk lots. If its ment to be it will be.
Learn to take things for face value ...don't try reading more into any thing ....it does not pay ......(most guys don't "think" about what else or how else a girl / woman may interpret what they are saying - unless they are intenionaly flirting or looking for a bite)
believe me I know.
As I think I made the same mistake & in the process I believe I have lost one of the most very important & special friends I ever had.
Some times subconciously what our heart wants and what our mind construes can create a false reality.

It sounds like you were giving off some bad vibes or unconsciously changed something in your body language or demeanour. Women do that sometimes, men may notice it when very close to woman in question...they read something into it that really was not there...I guess we can chalk it up to those blessed hormones again...they get blamed for a lot..and rightly so...

Sometimes couples spend too much time together and it becomes overwhelming to one or both. Perhaps he just needed some space to "miss" you!

maybe he thought you were the one who was acting strange and that weekend he recognized that you are still just the same person. maybe it means he's ready for a long commitment...

It's pretty clear to me. He thought you were blowing him off and it turns out you weren't, so he's happy that you two have resumed as you once were.

Ask him what he meant by that. The basis of any healthy relationship is communication.
