I am training someone at work, I am a senior member of staff. The manager has appointed me to train the new member of staff.

We work in a call centre so I have to pretend I am on the phone with the new person.

I am advising the person what to say and this other member of staff next to me is butting in telling me what the new person should say instead.

I stopped and said to this insolent person, to do it herself if she thinks she is better than me!

She has done this all morning!

What do you think of this

She said that she wants to do a training manual as a gesture of goodwill, then said that because she will not get extra money for it!

She wants to take on loads of work, but then cracks under pressure saying that she has taken on too much!

I know the feeling!

IN YOUR SITUATION: I believe that the other worker is jealous of you because this task has been placed in your hands. If SHE WAS SO QUALIFIED then the boss would have asked her to do it instead of you! YOU should not have let her get the best of you because that's what she wanted you to do: get upset while she looks like she was just being a good co-worker.

SUGGESTION: Speak to her privately and address your anger about the situation. Calmly let her know that you didn't and don't appreciate her doing that while you are training someone new. Indicate to her that she is more than welcome to speak to the senior staff member about her interest in training FUTURE workers but for now you have the situation under control.

I realize that you are irritated with the person who butted in, but you should have told her that you are the one that the management asked to train the new employee so the other woman needs to mind her own business. If she continues, move to another phone or tell management. Don't tell the annoying woman to train the newbie if she thinks she can do it better than you, since she obviously already thinks that she can do it better than you that's why she keeps butting in.

She sounds like a bullying control freak who needs her head flushed down the toilet.

Report her to the line manager and tell the manager that if you have to leave because of the stress she's putting you under, you'll sue them for thousands!

Employers have a duty to protect their employees from unnecessary amounts of stress in the workplace.....also, bullying should not be allowed to take place.

Flush 'er head down the bog!

you should ask them to stop and warn them that if they do not you will report them to the supervisor,in the meanwhile tell the person you are training to ignore all coments from this other person.
