Because it makes us stronger. If we lived like happy merry sunshine all the time, we would have no life experience and would not be able to relate to others and teach them.
We couldn't use the excuse, "I have experience."

Usually because we are naive. We accept people for what they tell us and believe that they are telling us the truth when, in fact, they are lying. Then we get disappointed. And the cycle starts all over again. I've been hurt so many times in my relationships with men, because I've trusted them. And then I find out they've been dishonest with me and have told me lie after lie. Yet, I never seem to learn that a man is incapable of telling the truth, at least not for very long. If you can toughen your outer shell and learn to look deeply into a person before committing to them, you will be ahead of the game. When in doubt, opt out!
